Unexpectedly this turned out to be the best short-format story I've read all year. The pacing is perfect, the characters are perfect, and the story is well-crafted and layered. This is a tightly written and intimate love story with plenty of charm from beginning to end.
Reading others' comments, I wonder if people subconsciously pre-judged this one because of its trashy cover and drawing style associated with smutty stories of little substance. If so, they may have missed it for what it is, a diamond in "rough" packaging. It's like sitting down to watch a movie on Lifetime only to discover it's actually incredible. I hope more people will read this story and bring its rating up to 9.5 or more, which it deserves.
