XY is a crazy bastard. He lived with them just for the heck of it. When he comes back after buying the veggies, XXC asks A-Qing to run away and stabs XY after asking him if he really is XY. XY made SL into a fierce corpse and tells XXC that XXC killed SL and other living people. Out of despair, XXC kills himself. XY waits for XXC to turn into fierce corpse but XXC's soul is in fragment and can't get back together. XY becomes crazier because he can't control XXC. A-Qing sees the entire thing and is scared af. She runs for dear life but after sometime, XY runs into her in some street and takes her eyes out and kills her. Sorry if I spoiled it more that you wanted.

Maybe XY did live with them for "the heck of it," but I think XY grew fond of XXC's kindness during those last years. I think that is another reason for him to stay. Yeah, we still can't forget he isn't seen as a good person to many, so he has to play and be that role. It really is tragic what happened to all of them...

River ends up learning all the story and ends up hating every one (khaol for the curse, heil for never telling him everything, ilya for selling his descendants and himself for being weak).
river's life force is being sucked by khaol, and khaol tells him there's a way to prevent that ( is it real tho), the only option that seems possible is if he becomes a goblin ( but it would suck for multiple reasons.)
big drama happens, because of lari, river dies, becomes a god (by somehow stealing another god's body), after gaining powers , he rejects heil friendship, and leaves khaol with his depression, and without life force to "energize" him
the novel cuts off abruptly when heil finally finds river after desperately searching for him because after rivers changes apearance he "disappeares" without telling anyone
heil was happy to find him but river isn't......
here are the last lines so far (don't read if you dont want to)
R: "i'm not going to make another deal with you" i said "just let me be."
H: what are you talking about? I'm not going to scam you or anything. we're friends!
R: well, if one of your friends suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth without telling you, you should probably take a hint and just let them go.
Heil face contorts. He gets on his feets, then stares down at me (river is lying down rn btw) with hurt in his eyes.
H: fine
One moment, he's right in front of me. the next, he's gone.
Damn.. this story is a real emotionnal rollercoaster.. it's hard not to ship River/Heil more than River/Khaol..
And River even rejets Heil as a friend? Err..
Can I ask, was this end written a long time ago? Was this novel dropped or is the author still working on it?

Omg so much happened it's like driving to Manhattan and end up in Florida. I must say it's not what I expected most stories go with the two lovers on the cover reunited and the end. Though I so wish river fall for heil even though I don't know when the author will finish this story but I still can't wait to read more. Keep working on it Author San we're waiting to see the ending. Although there is a big twist I'm still very excited to see what will happen next. I'm rooting for Heil x River
