i think the cover is wrong and i dont know why but the manga fell alot of drama and misunderstanding

i think there's two key evidence against him:
1) he was literally 'caught in the act' (which was holding the knife that was still thrust into the body) by the most reliable witnesses: the police
2) his fingerprints are on the knife. assuming that it was the murder weapon and no other fingerprints were discovered there, it's pretty much 'decisive'.
and well, if you assume that he was basically wandering around prior to being discovered by the police, he had no solid alibi during the murder. so that's a third 'decisive' proof against him too.
so yea, even if there was an investigation, the results might just be the same if the killer was really that thorough.
and from what i learned from ace attorney (since it has a semblance of how japanese courts work), it's guilty until proven innocent.
that's what i assumed to what have happened anyway since the transition was just too quick.
If you're caught in the scene of a crime with no definite signs of it being someone else, unless you have a crazy good lawyer you're as good as convicted.
And you know what? there is the thing with her sister asking *him* "why?". as far as his sister is concerned he was the one who did them.
