Is it possible for a person to read yaoi comics and and be a homophobic at the same time?

    Anonymous May 7, 2018 9:47 pm

well, technically if you like something is usually because you feel kind of attached to you, something inside of you feel connected to this specific things but you try to suppress it by creating a negative feelings about it. of course i am not saying that you're a homo, but you're not exactly homophobic and i would dare say you're a bit of a S.

This question wasn't about me it was about one of my friends who loves yaoi but kinda panicked when i told her that I'm pansexual ( ̄へ ̄)

Yes there's that category of straight people who like gay related stuff and also support it but at the same time they also are afraid of actually experiencing the same thing and turning gay irl (cos definitely a lot of things dont remain the same anymore once u realise ur gay) and hence are homophobic in a subtle way. In short, you can describe that personality as "its okay to support it as long as it doesn't affect me irl" . Not like we can blame such people, more like we don't have the right to.

People don't even blink when they see someone getting killed in a film, but if it happened right beside them it would be completely different.
She probably is not homophobic, bit she is not used to see the real thing, and new things are hard top cope with the first time. Just give her some time to digest it and then she could change her mind.

Yes, I have seen plenty of people on this site over the years make comments along the lines of 'i love yaoi, but I would hate it if my child was gay'.
However, probably not the case with your friend, she might need time to process.
