I believe the Emperor is female. All the main concubines are male expect MC and the one female with long red hair in the recent chapters. All the shadows are male. All the maids in MC’s palace are female. MC’s parent who keeps popping up is her dad not a mom. I’m pretty sure it’s a guy.
Doesn’t seem like emperor cares if her concubines are male or female. She just likes them and/or have them because of their power.
They keep saying “Mama” but I guess they thought it was just an English word with Korean accent like how we say ketchup. “Mama” is close to how you say your majesty/highness/etc in Korean.
In Korean we don’t use pronoun like his/her/him/she/etc so I guess they keep guessing with each sentence they translate. Usually we just guess from what you say or from words like girl/daughter/sister/aunt/mom/etc to know the gender.
Translator probably didn’t fix grammar and did direct machine translate so they don’t know either lol

I have quite an hypothesis here, I think the timeline is connected and It has something to deal with past and future blah blah that mimi really is the king that turn into stone statue in the past and in the future got awaken by the mc in the previous chap (when he went into the temple) just thinking that they are connected into the past made my mind like gonna explode (and this all happened here when the mc tranmigrated is all their past together) that's why I think mimi/the king remembered our mc in the future and kept following him until boom! he's gone. And that is why the future mc got back to the past again to remember all that happened to him and the king's past. I feel like a timeloop or cycling something.. that we don't know why haha
I just think this will have a sad ending.
Ps: I got this all in my mind cuz of the seed and flower like hell HAHAHAHA i think the flower of the necklace is from the seed that is given by the mc to the king in the past and in the future mimi/the king gived it back to our mc. Yeah my mind is fucked up that i can't even explain everything right. (if u understand congrats and if not don't mind me) And yeah I have the feeling that it is even if my conclusion is all wrong this will end up with an sad ending that don't know why. The story is nice but I don't feel good about how they translated it! The honorifics is all wrong, Like instead of using Her/she they use Him/He in stating famale and used Her/She in calling Males instead of Him/He ༎‿༎( ≧Д≦)ಥ_ಥ sorry it's just great that I have common sense in reading this.
