I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with fetishizing the FICTIONAL genre. As long as you draw a strict line between reality and fiction and don't let it affect the way you treat REAL mlm and gay people, I don't see a problem.
Yaoi/BL is a fictional genre. It is no different from other genres, nobody owns this genre either. There's a huge difference between fetishization and enjoying the genre.
