The mermaid'd protection is a bracelet that boots your strength and provides other conveniences that I forgot, but if you wear it for a long time, it will store all your magic power and strength. If someone else takes the bracelet and wears it, then they will gain all that power and strength while the og person is left powerless. Since Freyata's power is dying/disappearing, the emperor probably focused on the "sucking up of all your powers" function of the bracelet and made a different one to store Lyla's powers (since Lyla has Sienna's power and Freyata's power in her). I forget which chapter it is in, but this is his contingency plan to prolong/keep Freyata's powers alive for when it completely disappears. I also think the bracelet that the emperor made disables her use of magic since she told Helene that she had no choice, or she could still be keeping the promise she made to her mother.

It looked like Sienna made one to block the powers to protect her... but there was the scene where she was yelling at the Emperor about giving her the mermaid's protection so yes I think you're right his plan was to drain her to power himself. Part of me was wondering if it also had a connection to why Lyla's body became a host... since we kinda know now how she vacated the body but it's not 100% clear why there was a spell to bind another soul

I wonder if it's gonna be that the temple couldn't handle that the 'saintess' was born male in this timeline... so they've made his sister the fake saintess... while Nise is actually still doing the saintess powers behind the scene. But it seems his sister, Liv, has gotten a chip on her shoulder while Nise is treated like sh*t.
And then I also wonder if OG Kassel knew Nise was male or not... depending on the temple's influence maybe not until after 'the story" ends for the player. Then again from memory noone can finish the game... so... the story reset before anyone got there?

What if the answer to ending the routes is Jerry accepting their love but he defines how? Both with Eins and the twins he accepted that he loves them as brothers. But before he's been actively avoiding the love of the potential MLs before this...
Siren he didn't know about so he never feared it and accepted him as a friend before knowing and thus none of Siren's route appeared. That to me also means that the system doesn't make them automatically love him... they fall for him as they go down the story of the route... except Ilya where it was love at first sight because of his situation and was met before the route conditions. Now Eins and the twins routes are closed because Jerry has defined that love as brothers. He hasn't defined the relationships with the last two because he's too scared of the events...
It'll be interesting if the twins keep having that jealousy of Ilya now... as to whether it was brotherly jealousy or the incestuous kind of jealousy... like if they automatically fall out of love with him or if it was really brotherly love with the potential of developing (they don't seem to be aware of anything more since they didn't understand why they were feeling that way)...

I think it this is the case... it'd have to be genuinely from Jerry's heart. Like with Ilya we know he isn't just a friend but he's too scared to acknowledge that... so even if he says I love you as a friend it wouldn't work. And previous times he's said I love you to the brothers it's been because he felt forced, was keeping up appearances or hadn't fully meant it deep down because he was scared. But now he genuinely loves them as brothers not just like or because he has to... and he's said it with that meaning.
And maybe the route pop ups are more for 'changing routes' because his heart is kinda already on Ilya's route despite being too scared to accept it and he's not getting pop ups for Ilya
