Yknow, I saw a movie ages ago about a person that can rewrite history with his actions, but he will remember all the timelines he's been on. I forgot the name, was it butterfly effect? Idk.

Anyways, at a later part, he starts to get a headache and this condition worsens simply because his brain's memories are both too abundant and perhaps conflicting with each other. I assume something similar is happening to the ml. Maybe this is why the ml's brain is rejecting or hiding his past memories with the fl in this story. Trauma could also be a factor, nothing against a simple reason as that.

I forgot the conclusion of the movie. I also doubt that they'll delve too deeply into the effects of the ml changing the timeline in this story, but I was just interested in the similarity and also because this story unlocked a past memory within this forgetful brain haha xD

Interesting concept. This is fun to think about xD

It was called the Butterfly Effect! And there are multiple endings but it more or less ended with the ml staying out of the fl’s life. I loved that movie so I think Ill rewatch it. Thanks for reminding me it existed! <3

Ah- I am reminded of a oneshot story that's similar to this, but it involved brothers. It was one of the times where I actually felt sad and quite disturbed despite the interesting toy concept. Same bluetooth toy and same scared reaction by the uke; even same 'ghost' reasoning. This will most likely end on a happier note tho, so I hope this overwrites that scenario from the other manga in my memory.

    Lmaooo i know that one
The mangaka used to draw osomatsu's dj all the time.
It was messed up but the arts are straight fire.

What’s the name…. So i can avoid it?

Haha it's been awhile since I was surprised by a twist. Alright alright, I'll give this a go. Story is nothing new, but the twist alone intrigued me.

Ahhhh!!! This made me realize that this is basically a story about the parents of a future ml with a sad background. The type where the ml's mom dies or gets sick and the dad doesnt care about his son at all. Oh wow, what an interesting perspective. Sad but interesting. I can't believe my brain just clicked about it just now.

Gasp! Fictional characters doing a taboo thing! Oh no!!! My brain is being tainted!!! Jokes aside, I guess I'm too jaded to be affected by these stuff xD

If it was 2 years, then sure- maybe I would've symphatized with his friend's annoyance, but just 2 weeks?! What can you do in 2 weeks?! Finding a job and saving funds to live independently isn't that easy y'know?!!!! What a fake ass friend!!!

InsomniacEnigma January 21, 2024 4:35 am

Agghhh!!! The usual communication issue! I don't usually like how cliche love triangles become, but at this point I just want to see progress, so where's that brother of his?! We need him to show up! Surely some "jealousy" scenarios will get this guy to finally make his move!!

I ddin't mean to dislike it omg sorry huhuhu

Wow... the comments on this one are quite... critical. I guess I'm one of the minority who liked the story. It's not amazing or revolutionary, but it was still interesting nonetheless ^^"

Stories nowadays are way too similar, so a bit of change or twist is already a welcome addition. I enjoyed the whole positive twist to the slavery setting & I also liked how there's a tiny bit of exploration in the mc's background of being a rare breed and his past life.

In my opinion, this is enough to win me since I've read way too many simplistic, mind-numbing, copy-paste stories with school life setting, villainess dying plot, dad and daughter story, rivalry, childhood friends, etc etc., so a story that tries to make some sort of special setting to stand out from the crowd is enough for me to like it xD

In the future, I'll most likely forget most of the villainess and school-life stories I've read since they'll just merge together in my shitty memory, but this one will most likely stand out for a bit longer since there are unique elements that will help me remember it.

Well- to end my rambling, I just wanted to show my appreciation to the story since there are too many negative comments so far. Nothing against those types of comments tho (I enjoy seeing others express themselves in any way; whether it is a good or bad thing) since it is still interesting to see people's perspective and opinions, but I just wanted to add some balance to the mix xD

No I completely get you. To me this was one of the first ones where slavery wasn't put in such a negative spotlight, where guys get to serve the princes due to the rule (like how concubines need to stay with their own gender etc) and they get paid well and also opportunities in the future (ie like that other guy)

It was also an interesting angle with our main prince too, a man who didn't desire the throne, (all of them had their own desires but were very harmonious) and instead had pursued something that's more commoner-like haha

The rare breed thing was also super interesting to see too.

Although there's always room for improvement, the ideas put forth have had their time to grow and portray themselves as something more unique out there.

i also enjoyed the unique angle it took on the isekai aspect! many stories have no explanation when a character transmigrates into a new body, no mention of the original soul or how the new soul got there, but this one gives it an interesting twist. i loved the dynamic between the two souls, and the scene where they merged was impactful. you're right, this story isn't necessarily mindblowing, but it has some great features.

    Thanks for sharing!!

Now that you mention it, concubines wouldve been a better and closer term, but playing with the slave aspect means that they aren't strictly tied for life towards the prince they serve, so it still makes sense.

Also it's good that you mentioned the prince! Sadly, the author didn't explore his story too deeply, but I guess it was enough for us to understand his character. His type of character is indeed quite uncommon, and would've been a great story in itself xD

Lastly, I agree that this story could definitely be improved, but like you said, the ideas had time to shine. It would be amazing if the author develops further since they do have some creative ideas to write an interesting setting.

That's true! Perhaps the author had the same issue with many of the isekai stories, so they made sure to explore that area in this story? Hopefully more people explore the different possibilities with story gaps like that, just like how this story did, since small things like that does add a bit of uniqueness to the story.

Right right!! Especially the angle that they took to say that how the original soul felt and that ended up pulling the "reincarnated soul" from the future into the current body. Like that was an interesting aspect too!

Not only on top of that how the two also had to meld memories and how the isekaied soul wanted to at least find out what happened to the original host to get into such a predicament!

It's been awhile since Ive read a classic yandere xD

InsomniacEnigma October 11, 2023 1:02 pm

Ah- yes, the plot device to make the crown prince feel worried, grateful, and/or indebted to the mc.

I'm just here to see the prince's change in attitude as he tries to get on the mc's good side and perhaps some jealous moments down the line.
