'were you so worried about me being too lonely that you sent a son back to me' I was tearing up the whole time but that's when the tears jumped out fellas

CLASS PRES ILY BUT WHATS WITH THAT TIMING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
that said I don't mind seeing more of the side characters so long as this means the story taking on a broader perspective and not them just being there for no reason, but I'm def a little anxious to see how this conversation is gonna go - whether djun's gonna go on detail on a possible sexual discovery on lihuan's side, portray him as the no-labels kind of person who's just into people who are his type or (pls dont) pull off the infamous 'I'm not gay but you're the exception'

now back to agonizing until next wednesday

I think all the discussions about the pacing are valid whether you think it's a positive or a negative aspect, and I agree with both sides in some points - but it's also good to keep in mind not to look in the story for something that was never there. since the beginning - that one mistranslation aside - it was pretty clear that this was going to be one hell of a slice-of-life, nothing-happens-just-roll-with-it ride - and also that a great part of this work would be the author enjoying his art style (as he should). it's nothing new or groundbreaking; it does what it promises and does it very well. this story feels more like a personal project that ended up being published more than anything else, and I love it precisely for how self-indulgent it is.

again: discussions are important and def should be encouraged - just make sure not to take a light read for an in-depth exercise in social criticism to the point of ruining your own enjoyment.

the fact that so many of you think Alex's behavior is okay because 'these are consequences in a fwb relationship' is madness oof you can fuck someone without feelings involved and still treat them well you know

Alex's past explains, but doesn't justify his actions. he's a shitty person as he is right now, and that's fine. he can grow and improve himself later. there's no problem at all if you like him despite that, or even including that, nor reason to bend backwards to justify why you like him. it's really that simple

Therefore check who binds themselves. And be it only for a sex friendship. In the end it is a form of relationship. Differentiated is to say that both have contributed their share to the situation. One more, the other less ...

THIS SHIT TOO TOUCHING YO

reading the comments I thought I'd be upset about hiro being affected by mochiduki, but the author handled this very well through both hiro's and mochiduki's reaction to a point isn't addressed as often as it should in omegaverse: that the biology behind the ABO types aims for optimal reproduction as its only goal, and that it's up for society to impose their own rules over nature's.

biologically speaking? it's all about reproduction and ensuring an alpha's lineage, only. alphas going about bonding with multiple omegas, ready to act upon their instincts when given the opportunity? neat! for biology, that is. in most ABO stories I know, humans prioritize their free will as their defining disparity in relation to other animals, though.

and that's why it's so relevant that the author highlighted this struggle of instinct vs will. mochiduki brought up the recurring issue of rape in omegaverse - often excused by the rules of the nature that the authors /themselves/ dismissed the moment they chose a civilized environment as their setting and honestly get your shit together because that's just contradicting - while hiro showed very damn well that we didn't develop the ability to think and choose for ourselves for nothing. there are things that are more important than reproducing as humans are now, and it's exactly because they are so important that they require an action of will rather than an instinctive response. instinct is simple. instinct can only touch so far as the physical aspect of sex. instinct is your course of action if you're a brain-dead mule, at least in this case; which is why hiro's physical reaction means literally nothing at all, especially when he says it himself how disgusted it makes him feel.

hiro put his and masaki's feelings and their family's overall well-being over his instincts. it's not sad that he reacted to mochiduki - that's pure, indifferent, practical biology against the strength of a human's will and the passion of his love for his partner and family, and that's what matters.

I don't mind rape in fiction or even the romanticizing of rape in fiction so long as the author stays true to what they want to depict from beginning to end - like, if you're gonna romanticize rape, then keep it up until the end (like in between the mcs in the first chapters); if you're going for a realistic take, then do so all the way.
but then there's strange stances like this where the rape is clearly portrayed as a harmful and unforgivable act through the victim's anguish, only for them to dismiss it in the next panel by painting the rapist as some sort of Quirky Guy like "omg this guy is such a prankster!! haha going around raping people what a mad dude!!!! thanks for the sweets btw" and honestly what the fuck lol at least punch him or something

Yes... Yes. Yes ! Please, create rules of your own universe, or try to resemble reality. Otherwise, it's just shitty storywriting.

I love SO much how nonchalant and at ease Lihuan is about his affection towards Yuyang because yea fcking mood!!! it was like that for me, too - I was never questioned it to myself; it just made sense, and because of that I could never explain when people asked me about it. what was there to explain, anyway?
there's a fine line between the "I don't like guys but you're special!!1 uwu" trope and the "idk man if someone's my type then I like them, that's it" experience that's very much real, and I trust that DJun will keep doing a good job portraying that.

rereading this for the 452464th time and I'm still blown away by every little sentence ugh. it saddens me a bit that some people give up on trying to fully take the story in and just up and claim to dislike it, but this take on unhealthy, obsessive love might really not be for everyone, I think. even if the story is purely focused in the relationship between Jesse and Law, the mystery/psychological aspects of it made for a grandeur that didn't feel out of place at all.
if the author ever puts out anything like this again I'll be forever blessed tbfh
