shit. fuck. shit. this was so. cute. so wholesome and good. fuck. I was flustered the entire time and had to pause here and there to try and stop blushing. I cried when sakiko cried GOD damn that was great. between this and Golden Sparkle there's enough proof that all you need is a pleasant art style, good dialogue and clean, straightforward storytelling to come up with a great story - no intricate twists needed. I'm being well fed and I'm thankful
http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/papa_sex_caramelized/hs/hs_chapter-1/27/ you can HEAR his gaydar going off like a nuclear siren I'm cryingg
also: niina is an incredibly lovely name that only favors the author's incredibly lovely art style!
can we please get himari a #1 best boy trophy for being lovely and upfront and so unafraid of being vulnerable
really wish I could send the author a thousand love letters over how well put-together this is! their art style is so clean and distinct and it goes so well with the flow of the story it's. insane. the plot had everything not to take itself seriously - high school setting, dumb boys high on hormones, one of them so naive as not to know anything about sex -, but you can tell the author takes their craft seriously, because the story takes itself seriously. it doesn't half-ass itself just because the premise might be cheesy; it's a cheesy high school love story and a great one at that. I love it so much.
props to the translatiom team too - I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to make it so the dialogue was delivered in a way this fluid yet impactful. you guys did an amazing job!
BIG BRAIN ENERGY ALL OVER THIS CHAPTER
I'd been a little worried about how djun was handling the whole issue with wangwang and the Fujoshi Trope(tm), but there's clear self-awareness going on in this chapter and that puts me at ease!! thank you djun for addressing the fetishizing of irl gay relationships in a straight-to-the-point, easy-to-follow manner!
I have to come back here every so often so I can heal from all the pain in the side couple's story
miyabi endured so much with his head held high - it makes me overjoyed that he found in keisuke someone to treasure him the way he deserves, and that he didn't hesitate in the slightest to snatch his chance to be happy. it's healing to see how good to each other they turned out to be.
secretly wished that their story was more than a volume though. Even as a couple that is like an introductory to the whole kuruboku universe, they left a really strong impression.
"he didn't hesitate in the slightest to snatch his chance to be happy" - Doesn't this ring a bell? Even Keisuke said it in chapter 5; that Miyabi could be rude, but he doesn't really have a preference for people. To me, it's like Keisuke was implying that Miyabi didn't really care who he was gonna be with - be it alpha or beta. In the first place, he didn't feel the need to bond or have a relationship with someone, until Keisuke - a person who made him have second thoughts about his destructive way of living - came to his life, with a monstrous mental strength to face all his provocations and inner demons. A lot of readers only saw that Miyabi "left" Utou for an alpha, but remember how Miyabi implied that even if Utou was an alpha, there still wouldn't be a chance for them to be together. And look at how Keisuke treated Miyabi compared to how Utou treated him. This set Keisuke apart from Utou, Tobinaga, and other alphas and betas who had fooled around with Miyabi.
