No disrespect to people who say, “If you don’t like it, don’t read it.”
But people can enjoy something and still talk about the things that don’t sit right.
Criticism doesn’t mean hate. What Jiwook is going through is truly awful. No one should have to go through that, even in fiction.
So yeah, people will react and that’s okay.
You can love a story and still point out its flaws. That’s not being negative.

I don’t remember which chapter it was but basically Jiwook was 3rd year middle school and Juyeon was 1st year middle school and for an entire year he SA him pretty much, with notables mentions 1 gangbang Jiwook did which he recorded and sent to mom (it made her go crazy kind of) and another time leaving him with sex toys in a public toilet (either like mall/school don’t remember) and forgetting him there which resulted into the guard having to get Juyeon out of that mess… all of that because he refused to accept him being gay…. Thenn after a fight in his first year of high school Jiwook got hit in the head and forgot pretty much everything about Juyeon

People keep saying, “His past doesn’t excuse his actions.” Sure it doesn’t. But can you at least try to understand?
Jaekyung grew up in hell. A drunk, violent father. A mother who left and never came back. He was less than ten years old, calling her, begging her to come home and promising he’d make money so she didn’t have to be scared anymore. And then he was left to survive in filth and hunger, bullied, alone.
That kind of pain doesn’t vanish when you grow up.
He doesn’t drink because he saw what drinking turned his father into. He hates when Dan drinks because it triggers something deep, ugly and and something he had no control over as a kid. You think he’s just controlling. But he’s traumatized.
No one’s saying he’s perfect. He’s done wrong, absolutely. But Dan is an adult who can make choices. Jaekyung, back then, couldn’t even choose when to eat.
We're not excusing anything. We're just seeing the full picture.
If you can’t give him forgiveness, at least give him understanding
Kim Dan never had parents, only his grandma took care of him, he was bullied at school, the doctor he worked for tried to rape him and still he got fired from the job, he has issues with the loan sharks, he have shitty life and shitty childhood, but still he is not jerk like Jaekyung
No one’s denying that Dan had it rough. He absolutely did, and the fact that he stayed kind through it all says a lot about him. But trauma doesn’t affect everyone the same way.
Dan had his grandma, someone who loved and protected him. That matters. Jaekyung had no one. Just abuse, neglect, and survival. He didn’t get to be soft. He had to fight for everything, and yeah, that shaped him into someone rough around the edges.
It’s not about comparing pain or who had it worse. It’s about realizing that people cope differently. Dan shuts down. Jaekyung lashes out. Neither response is “better” or “worse.” They’re just different reactions to being hurt.
Understanding that doesn’t excuse Jaekyung’s actions; but it explains why he is the way he is.
i understand the kid version of Jaekyung, but not the adult one, he can go to visit therapist about it
Kim Dan is an angel. You should know by now that only an angel full of love and devotion can heal Jaekyung's scattered heart. That's the cliche we all know... never saw it happen in real life so don't go saving people's heart with your kindness lol.
in real life only money heals, sadly
True, and whoever said money can't buy happiness clearly didn't know where to shop.
yeah *sighs*
