Tbh who would not act like Eclis? If my family got killed and I would become a slave who is then bought to be a human shield I wouldnt care about anyone.
Eclis is crazy, and that's the normal way if you went though hell like him. And Penelope didn't treat him well, she forgot about him for days. She just checked his favor for her and never really saw him as a human with trauma or even feelings.
And she did not gave him what he needed - freedom. That's what a slave needs, not to be used like a protection dog.
Eclis is mad af but Penelope did a whole lot to keep him in this state.
If there is a redemption arc, it must be something like 'saving the whole damn' earth, no, the 'whole universe' in order for me to ever foget what he did. How he treated that gift someone put really big effort in, is just too much at this point.
