Tbh what does it matter that one of their subsidiares is the responsible? If we want to be picky about it it's technically not his personal fault, author is just going out of their way to involve ml in mc's tragedy. It's like the same thing that's going on with mc and I hate, his father was the one getting in debt and his son is the one suffering from loan sharks.
Idk, to me making the seme somewhat involved with what happened with the uke's father makes the seme more powerful. What I mean by that is the seme will be able to do something to help or at least free the uke from his father. Not necessarily make some misunderstanding and make the seme at fault - it shouldn't. But who knows what the author will do.
Wish it goes that way, most of the time it's used to add angst and drama. Even if he does pay off his debt, mc won't accept it easily
It will cause drama because the uke doesn't readily accept help but I would think there would be more unnecessary drama if the debtor was a rival company or something - it's like a mafia story at that point lol.
