Crazy how I’ve never seen one valid criticism against this manhwa. Everyone who hates it either lacks common sense or reading comprehension.
If u are younger than 18, if u find sexual assaults triggering but still chose to read this manhwa, or if u think the author needs to spell out RAPE IS BAD so ppl would understand that rape is bad, u lack common sense.
If u don’t understand why minho chose to stay with wookyung in the end, if u read the whole story and don’t understand why they gotta insert wookyung’s mom or mention his childhood in the story, if at any point in the story u think anything is not making sense, u lack reading comprehension. The author is good bc everything they write is cohesive and every character’s backstory explains their actions and mentality.
Also get the translators notes out of ur head and read the official translation and see if that helps.
I’m a big horuseth shipper but i cried.. this is so fucking painful what was done to seth and nepthys was so unfair, they were in love and so happy with each other
Ehh i’m still more for horuseth because horus is the only one who noticed that seth might have been unhappy to be the god of war. His priority is seth and not egypt. Nepthys is sweet but with nepthys it always feels like seth needs to protect her (which makes sense lorewise since war is to protect peace) but with horus.. i think seth can be more free and happy
I’m confused fr, if pi seongchan used to be a player, why’d he keep going outside to take a phonecall and die?? Was he just faking it? Or can he “revive” with an item or special ability? ??
Also does this mean jaeseob is now playing too? Since he changed
We only think that because of what Bada said, but we learned we can't trust in Badas word only because he is too confident in things he thinks he knows. The phone call is probably just something the cousin did to get away from the group while also keeping Bada unaware of him being awake. He probably also could read Bada like an open book like Doha has been and knows Bada had already labeled him as the "first kill" NPC and would assume he was dead instead of going to check since to Bada everything is programmed a certain way anyways
I know this manhwa is legendary bc two years later and people are still obsessed with it. Ppl will be frothing at the mouth going “I HAAAAATEEE this story” but still thinking about it everyday. Cha Wookyung is a billionaire and u still let him live in ur brain rent free?
All of u ppl who think the author did a bad job is just in denial. Fiction is supposed to be thought provoking and the author did a fantastic job, props to her.
came here again to say i love this manhwa so much. minho is so damn cute i understand why wookyung was obsessed with him. i never believed minho was right for duna no matter how cute he looks getting pegged because they just bring the worst out of each other's insecurities. but with wookyung?? minho knows damn well this dude is obsessed with him and will never leave him no matter what. minho might have been chained by the ankle but wookyung is chained by LOVE. minho belongs with wookyung fr fr. minho deserves a crazy chaebol who can give him all the money he wants. minho's days of living in poverty IS JOEVER!! STUDENT LOANS PAID OFF IN ONE DAY! incredible the miracles that can happen just from spreading ur cheeks!!!!!
i don't even get why people hate wookyung so much when he's just some hot stuff with crazy mommy issues. just because he's an asshole rapist abuser kidnapper billionaire doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a cute lovely babyboy to bang all night and all day??? we need to talk about how wookyung looks IN AWE when minho starts touching himself or getting on top of wookyung. yeah that man is DOWN BAD just like this economy. abandoning ur mom's million dollar company to take ur hostage/boyfriend out on a romantic trip = SIMP BEHAVIOR. but i get it bcoz if my kidnapped malewife looks like minho i would be a gooner too.
personally i think the ending was excellent 10/10 best thing to ever happen in yaoi.
W: "i can't live without u, ure the most important person in my life"
M: "ure not that important to me"
YEAAAAH DOGWALK HIM. AUTHOR IS A GENIUS this is some top tier literature
Ppl who prefer geumsun704 when its saneunjae screentime: “i miss geumsun and 704”
Ppl who prefer saneunjae when its geumsun704 screentime: “IDGAF about the second couple i DON’T LIKE the second couple. The second couple is so BORING and NOT enjoyable i’m just here for the first couple I’m gonna stop reading until the second couple is GONE”
this is an illegal site, noone cares if u stop reading
I enjoyed a bit reading the translator’s notes bc we have very different tastes and opinions so it was interesting but I feel like there were many times when the translator completely missed what the author was doing. Like i’m pretty sure the author never tried to justify wookyung raping minho even if minho got an erection bc the whole point of the rape was minho *NOT* enjoying it (he even puked during and after the whole thing). Also when wookyung told minho to move out in the hospital, it was clearly bc wookyung finally realized he’d rather let minho be free than miserable with him. If wookyung actually meant what he had said (about how looking at minho disturbed him and he’d had enough etc.) then why spend days at his bedside waiting for him to wake up? This was made clear by the final chapter where wookyung admits that he actually wants minho to stay.
I think the translator sometimes conflates what duna/wookyung was thinking or saying to what the author themselves think. But duna and wookyung were never meant to be reliable narrators; if anything they kept questioning themselves and changing throughout the story, they sometimes justify their own actions with flawed logic or even lied, and its up to the readers to think and come to conclusions on their own. If u’re expecting the story to spoonfeed u the answers then of course u will come out of it thinking “what the heck?? Do people actually think this way?” Its like watching American Psycho and thinking the moral of the story is that its okay to kill people.
Anyway, the author even left it as an open ending (where its unclear whether wookyung would truly change or not and whether they could be happy or not) so its up to the readers to decide whether or not minho made the right decision.
I’m glad to see this kind of comment. I found the whole story extremely interesting and felt all the jabs the translator took at it were kinda shallow. It’s a hard hitting tragic story with characters that have complex minds that try to justify their abnormal rationality. Seeing Minho’s downward spiral also hit hard cause I felt the same way, it’s crazy to read something that stirs your feelings up so much. That’s why I think heavy topics are so interesting to read and I’m sad not everyone sees that!
Yeah, the translator was very biased for minho which sadly made them perceive everyone’s character more 2 dimensionally instead of understanding that each character is complex with their own flaws and struggles. People downplays minho’s emotional abuse on duna then fails to grasp the significance of ch.35: he finally realized putting duna down wouldn’t have made him happy, he felt off and uncomfortable bc he successfully made her into someone he wanted, which is not her true self.
On the other hand people refuses to sympathize with wookyung who clearly grew up emotionally and physically abused by his mother, although u can clearly see how this fucked up his perception of love and even sense of self.
Both characters have a lot of baggage and people just reduced them to two dimensional abuser and victim roles, completely forgetting that these are fictional characters and we are not judges on criminal court.
I forgot who was the duke…
