it's not that i dont understand Gio, he has severe abandonment and trust issues, but that still doesn't excuse not communicating with felix yknow? you can understand the reason behind and sympathize while also recognizing he's not being a good partner atm. He might not even realize exactly how manipulative it is to try to secure that felix wont leave him even if he stops loving him, which is a very understandable desire yet still not alright
ok so i normally haate romance in stories like these, but at least let's not pretend he "doesn't care for her" nor like her, bc he literally says she's kind, attractive etc (saying she's exactly like his deceased wife) and his issue isnt that he doesnt like her, but that "she's too young and too good for him." those are not the same thing. His reasoning is that a similarly aged, average woman is the best fit, and likely what he would be capable of scoring as well. IF he went around thinking he deserved all the rich, gorgeous and young women he wouldnt be a character i liked anyhow, but a fucking prick
