The last chapters were ok but damn did I want a bit more softness between wacko and our MC. Like I absolutely did not like him cutting himself using the MC and the selling of all his stuff is not the kind of possessiveness I find sexy or cute in these kind of stories. I liked the dynamic in the beginning as I hoped it would improve but Wacko is kind of abusive even by the end. I just wish he’d stop hurting or threatening the MC because it’s not cute and really rubbed me the wrong way. I just really don’t like partners that would in any way hurt their significant other and the pressing on his wound made me feel a bit sick. Overall this felt more like a coercive and toxic relationship rather than one where they build each other up. (Even if it tried portraying the ML as helpful mentally to the MC the method was less than fun for me to read and enjoy)

Though to be fair the MC did let a lot of it happen because he didn’t care enough to actually stop it. It did feel like there were times the line was crossed and he couldn’t have stopped it even if he wanted to and thats why I’m griping about the toxic nature of the relationship.

Overall I really did like the plot but was disappointed by the ML — I did really enjoy that the MC had some agency all throughout — like it felt like he could leave if he really wanted to which is important.

Overall I did binge this and outside the main romance I loved everything about this and the MC learning to care about life and helping the people in his orbit was nice and definitely added to the story for me. So I’d say 8/10 story 6/10 romance

So many comments saying this is cute and a good rec from one of the lists I liked made me think I’d really enjoy this but…

Like theres zero consent in the beginning I’m only on chapter 4 and so far its been coercion and rape (and just because it feels good doesn't mean it's not rape) — I was just really uncomfortable reading the first couple chapters but tried to give it a chance to change my mind then it went from non consensual kissing and then to full on noncon. I really wish more BL would have content warnings. And I know it’s fiction and sometimes I can even enjoy a fiction thats less than kosher but only when I’m specifically looking for something toxic.

So be warned if you expecting it to be cute or sweet or anything but noncon in the first few chapters — and this is not to say that it may not get better later I’m just feeling to much of an ick to continue
