I think this story is fantastic in the way it shows how privilege can affect you and other people. It is unfair that Annette was treated this way just because she was born a part of the royal family, but as she said: Since I was born wrong, I was also raised wrong.
She enjoyed the privileges only available to her through the suffering of the common people. It is shown that when the shooter's sister described how their older brother had been tortured by her father while Annette was enjoying her piano recital.
Heiner is horrible, he keeps his wife close to him and refuses divorce because he wants to see her unhappy, to see her miserable. However, he loves her still, he once loved, and still loves her. He is a victim of her father's wrongdoings yet he loves her, because her piano, and her naivety gave him hope during the most miserable parts of his life. And I think that's why he wants to see her miserable; to be part of her unhappiness and to inevitably go down with her. Because she was one sidedly apart of his suffering.
It switches the roles, the one who is suffering now is the a noble with royal blood running through her veins, and the one causing that suffering is of common blood, an orphan once loved by nobody. Annette is going through what Heiner did during his earlier years, and the past is something she runs away from, meanwhile, Heiner is finally free from his oppressor: The father of his wife. But he loses all trust from his wife in the process; the past where he and his wife is something he misses.
TLDR: It's a very complex story that makes you feel contradictory on purpose. Both are victims here, victims of the sins of Annette's father. And I actually love it for that. It's very nuanced, and I don't comprehend everything myself lol
this is so long im sorry, but if you went through all that thank u??? anyways i love this story im waiting for more chapters

I actually agree with what you said.
Annette did nothing wrong apart from being naive and maybe ignorant, since she was sheltered from the moment she was born.
Heiner should have directed his anger towards Annette's father and the other nobles. He should have secured her father's capture and tortured him the way he(father) did to him. Coz at this moment, Heiner is acting like Annette's father, who tortures and hurts another innocent person. (Tho Annette is not totally innocent, since ignorance is not an excuse)
Heiner may still love Annette and is in denial, but his actions does not deserve forgiveness nor will it justify his actions. However, it is still up to Annette if she will forgive him and accept him again. If this truly happens, I don't think they'll be genuinely happy together. (Imagine spending the rest of your life with the person who may have loved and still love you, but caused your almost demise and destroyed your will to live.)( ̄∇ ̄")
In short, I love and hate this story. It causes me heartbreaks. But since I'm a bit of a maschist, I will continue reading it Hahah (=・ω・=)

oh my god i mean i like this but why is the author making everything so obvious like i already knew the moment i saw pearlman but when they showed us siony??? how r the characters this slow like

Um everyone we literally ALL read that up until 2-3 chapters ago, Pearlman and his sister & father thought his daughter was blonde.
Why would he or his relatives not believe what they'd been told?
And why would they assume that just because she has brown hair is his daughter? Yes, they have similarities but those similarities could really be found anywhere...
They're a family that go on logic, not coincidences.

i would agree, but wouldn't a doctor that has tried to find his daughter for years without any results would start to account for other possibilities (ie. the daughter's hair possibly changing after birth, the doctor who said she had blonde hair possibly lying, etc.) ??
not to mention everyone saying theyre alike, and the fact that pearlman has a missing daughter while mc has missing parents? i mean there's two genius doctors in this series you would think someone would atleast try

well the aunt did mention that if the daughter that he has been searching for’s hair color changed than he would have to search even more and it was too late for it or something, but no fr this mf is so stupid for not doing a DNA test when she’s RIGHT THERE they’re like literally the same person he’s a doctor too shouldn’t he also account for her hair color changing? he’s some genius alright
"no babee how could he leave u wtf :(((" sihwa sighed, grinning ear to ear while embracing his boyfriend
