I can tell where people's coming from for those who read the raws saying that it shifts to GL. And I agree; you can tell there is something going on between the two dark hair girls (and tbh, the story focuses too much on one of them to the point I barely see the male lead and the demon). BUT, after one of them committed suicide (chapter 30 something), the story goes back to BL.
AND, in fact, on chapter 41, Xiao Shui even thought to himself "why do I even LIKE you" in regards to the white demon, so he admits that he does have feelings for Xiao Bai (and there's a scene I believe where he thought to himself that he'll never let go of Xiao Bai).

So yes, this is shounen-ai and GL won't be the main focus of the story. And even if shounen-ai isn't your cup of tea, do still give this story a try if you like mystery, supernatural, dark themes, etc (and it is definitely getting dark...)
