Finished it in less than 4 hours, didn’t expect the chapters to be shorter than an average BL manga.
Top-tier BL mangas for me are the ones that make my stomach churn—Deadlock def made me feel that way almost all throughout the story. The plot wasn’t unique, but it was one of the best-written BL manga sets in jail. The thing that separates it from others with the same plot is that the rape and sexual assaults weren’t romanticized at all, because I felt sick to my stomach after I read those disgusting things that happened with Matthew and Yuuto. I expected it, but— God, I couldn’t take to see the next page when I saw that panel of Matthew lying naked with blood on his face and body. And the most horrifying thing was when his assailant talked about it proudly, it was almost detailed, it made me pause reading. Thank goodness, unlike other authors, Deadlock's author did not graphically show those scenes and focused more on the plot itself. And maybe it wasn’t completed yet, but I didn’t feel any tingling sensation from the romance between Yuuto and Dick.
