I’m MTLing the novel and I have to say the manwha is not doing the seme justice lol
So, he still has that whole asshole thing going on but he’s less stoic and more cynical + clever. I don’t know, it could be just me but, reading the manhwa first, he always came across just kind of blank and there wasn’t a lot going on between the MC and him, NBD I just figured it was early and it would develop. Then I started reading the book and he was way witty and playful in a cynical asshole way; he was clearly flirting with the MC on multiple occasions and they have a little banter thing going. I’m reading both, but I just like him better in the book.
I swear, I was pre-embarrassed while reading the novel because I knew Inseop would have to say that half-backed “revenge” plot out loud and the cringe was just too strong lol I wouldn’t believe that shit either lol
He’s so bad at being bad I want to be like “horrible plan, but good job trying your best!….”
Jahan is the worst but he’s also super realistic-vulnerable, scared/fears abandonment, selfish, dumb and scheming in a very childish way; everything in this story is setting him up to be a major issue for MC.
He grew up in the underworld so he’s comfortable with that life, but MC didn’t/isn’t, now that Jahan sees MC might be able to leave he’s going to be scared and will have no problem f-ing stuff up to keep things as they are. I bet money he finds out about the “secret” and betrays MC, but justifies it in his own head.
That’s an interesting thought
