The very first thing that came to that white guy's mind when he thought a "gang" was attacking the other dude is an image of men of African ethnicity. A negative stereotype that is put on Black people, especially by white people and guess what? the goddamn main character is supposed to be a white dude.

Is that what it means?? I thought he was referring to the yakuza. Just translation issues yk?

i think the issue is less about the translation and more about the image behind the word. like they said, on that same page where Eric is scared that it’s a gang attacking Nao, images of three dudes that look Black pop up.

As a black person if this is based off in Korean/Japan then yes he should be scared mist artistes draw gang members ugly or exaggerating unless it’s the mc character he was referring to yakuza type

i don’t know about the other person, but i’m Black. the only reason i said they “look Black” is because they look like stereotypical drawings for Black people. it was like the artist drew those specific features on purpose because none of the other characters look like that. i didn’t notice it because i was like you and and thinking it was yakuza that he was talking abt, but after looking at this comment thread and going back to look again, I realized they were kinda right. Eric is white and the pictures that show up look Black and that’s weird.

I am in fact African American but even if I wasn't, it's still concerning.
