I think she started tending to him when he was 13 and she was 17 he's growth being stunted by the curse. For awhile she didn't see him as a man at all obviously watching this little kid grow into a young man she just thought of him as like a kid brother which ML did not like he expresses several times that he is displeased by her treating him like a kid. Now he is 20 and she is 24 so it's less an issue about whether or not it's pedo since it's not she didn't groom him and she didn't try to seduce him. She literally LEFT.
