That was peak. Im levatating like Dua Lupa or whoever the hell she is because Ive been waiting for years. Literally. I was there when S1 ended. Seeing Seth toss his head back in pleasure is a pipe dream turned into reality. This chapter is worth a thousand trips to the grocery store, hundreds of nights of sleep, and thousands of acres of fertile, planted land, because Mojito served and I ate.
I was literally whispering "what the actual fuck... Oh my fucking God" several times. This shit is so deep, and Im being genuine when I say that. The connections Richard had with others and him losing love after love, realizing that they were all roses really fucking got to me. The forest was where he wandered his entire life and on that path he never stopped the smell the roses, lmafo. Anyway, I am going to end it all. fml
PLSSSS THEYRE SO FUCKING CUTEEEEEEE!!!! Im really trying to emphasize with them and yet I just cant. I can only dream of intensely loving someone, depending on someone, and putting your whole being into them and having that exact same feeling replicated. Its like two lone puzzle pieces finally clicking together to create the heart of the picture. And Seo's development makes me want to cry, him thinking "I'll let him win this one time, its not like Ill lose him" just goes to show how he always put up a competitive edge to protect himself and save face. Losing was a weakness, a vulnerability, and with Youngchan he's redefined those moments of vulnerability to moments of happiness. He's secure in Youngchan's arms, and Ill never be able to be loved like that so </333
Honestly the buildup of Noah slowly regaining his memories was the best part. There was the painful dissolution of Scott and Jade's relationship, and the mystery of what happened on the night Alex was murdered. I loved slowly dissecting Noah from Scott, and wondered what the hallucinations really represented. The parallels between Noah in ghost form vs Dylan in chains was also pretty good...and then S2 came around and the quality started to unravel.
I want to say that things became too straightforward, and the artstyle became more and more generic, with a hefty use of 3D models that stiffened all life this manwha previously had. I would much rather have Noah be a "I was born this way" not an "I was made this way" character, because its been done to death and would've been more interesting. It wouldve been harder to explain why he wanted to be loved by Dylan so much rather than it being the one thing his love-starved child yearned for.
And the hallucinations/apparitions from both parties are never explained. Is Dylan lowkey schizo? Is the ghost from Scott really there, or was it a manifestation of Noah's possible guilt? Whyd he just pop up and vanish? Why is Scott's body constantly getting hit by cars? Is that an indication of some greater power (such as fate and order) trying to return the dead to its rightful position? And Jade was just a throwaway character. I was so invested in the idea of possessing someone else and having to deal with their lover, but it ultimately didnt add much to the plot. Jade was literally used for sex and fanservice, not only by Noah, but by the author.
The ending was really straightforward, too. It's not bad, but dissapointing. "What goes around comes around" theme was already established in the beginning, when Noah had no control over anything and could only rely on Dylan's presence to motivate him. He was tortured before, so why do it again? It shouldve had a more tragic ending lmao, both of these idiots shouldve been dead/covered in blood
if you go to the earlier chapters, Unomi is a she, but in the most recent chapter, they're a he? Did something happen that I missed? Did this character become trans outta nowhere?
