Preview for chapter 18 i guess?
What happened to Norihikos eye tho? :o
So, how do you guys feel about the ending? :/
Like most of the recent endings for Lezhin webtoons, botched. It felt like watching a movie in fast motion.
The events of the chapter were too "big" to fit in only one chapter, this should have been spread in 2 or 3 chapters, at least. But I guess the author really wanted to stop working with Lezhin quickly (although it's infuriating for readers who payed for the chapters to see the story fizzle out like this).
And since I don't understand korean I don't know how his relationship with the "father" is at this point, even though it was what gave the name of the series ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
what ending
I agree with you, this ending felt a bit rushed but I guess we could expect some extra chapters for epilogue. We can't be left hanging with just a revelation that...
Kang Shihyun became Kyunhee's stepfather in the end. And damn I despise Kyunghee for ruining literally everybody's life: mom's dead, sunbae's in jail (poor him for caught up in all this mess) and Shihyun in the end became his father anyway. I'm furious right now seriously.
Basically sunbae thought Kyunghee never forgive him because he never visit him. He apologized for what he did to Kyunghee's mother was irreversible (like duh she dead bruh). He also heard that Shihyun had quit his job so he won't be a threat anymore. He asked for them to start again and he would go to him once he's released so please wait for him.
From what I get, sunbae's still completely disillusioned that he still has something going on with Kyunghee. Poor him.
Thank you for explaining what's being said! (●'◡'●)ノ
The ending really does leave us hanging...
I, for one, could understand Kyunghee's reasons for acting the way he was acting (Shihyun was the one who was disillusioned over the nature of their relationship in the first place) but now, seeing how all of this went down I do feel that he fucked up BIG TIME and truely brought this upon himself (not that he deserves it though).
I understand authors have some major beefs with Lezhin but giving up on their narrative like that is very unprofessional, I'd rather see the series going on hiatus (like Wolf in the house) then see promissing works end like this... (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Welp, maybe we'll get an epilogue or a satisfying afterword from the author...?
@mwoa, could you please also translate the last discussion between Sihyun and Kyunghee?? What did Sihyun tell to him in the last pages? Thank you!!
I'm also confused about the ending! Did the MC and the old guy become stepfather and stepson anyway, and are they together? I used my Google translate app and it wasn't clear.
With that being said, I remember thinking when I started reading this how it will be kind of a cop-out and predictable if the author made the mom die without ever figuring out the true nature of her son's relationship with her boyfriend. Looks like it came true! Oh but the author does have a Twitter and Askfm account: https://twitter.com/nellikang; https://ask.fm/nellikang/best. I predict she'll get a lot of unhappy readers!
He just said that today's cold so go in(side). Kyunghee's condition has not been the same, his mom wouldn't like him doing this. Kyunghee's said I know and in his inner thoughts he said I'll be right with you stepfather.
Sorry if there are some mistakes here and and on the previous reply. Both korean and english are not my first language.
I hate his new hair style (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
You guys need to re-read the ending and focus on his wrist when he placed flower in his mom's grave/picture. There are scars in his wrists hence the reason why he hasn't visited him in prison. Takes a whole different meaning right? It seems he does blames himself as well to the point that he tried to take his own life.
yeah that isn't a good look. it seems like a lazy way to show lot of time passed.
Given that he has spent his life with an emotionally and financially abusive owner who basically guilt tripped her son into supporting her through sex work, and didn't value him as an adult (remember that scene where after he came back from a night out she scolded him and got him to put his head on her lap like a child?!). Then she took the side of her new boyfriend who was in the press accused of being a peadophile, and slapped the son that said he was dangerous. Even though the son "used" others, he was a victim of a bad mother and it's understandable how he feels unrealistically responsible for her death because that is how she manipulated him to think. Even in her last moments she defended the sugar daddy over her own child. I guess because her character wasn't obviously abusive or an extreme evil stereotype it made it more haunting given that there will be many people living and growing with such emotionally and abusive figures in their lives but they are never held to account due to the victims feeling they are in the wrong and not the abuser.
and she was a victim of being viewed as a lesser person for being widowed and struggling to take care of herself and a child. they were co dependent more than he was absused. she obviously worked too. him helping with money and paying for school is more "he's the man of the house" trope and less of manipulation. and him "acting up" over "mom has a new lover, ruining our happy home" while a mother is confused and worried is another age old trope used in this story. it wasn't that deep.
her death was used as a tool to quickly end the series rather than do any character development. what was she supposed to do? watch her fiancee be murder by a stranger in case he was the guy who took her son and she could beg for his return? she was, and always had been, used as a prop but this was the sloppiest "twist" of all. again, It really isn't that deep.
Anybody knows what happens in chapter 5 and what was the reason for the chapter to be removed from the entire internet basically? :/ been looking for the raws of chapter 5, but any site that had them at some point has them removed, so if anybody has the raws i'd be really happy if you could link them to me. Thankss
I actually ended up buying a hardcopy of the Japanese manga because I really wanted to know what happened in the missing chapter as well. Basically, Himuro takes Reiichirou to a masquarade where they dance together and suddenly a black out occurs in the middle which is when the two get separated. In this time, Reiichirou is kidnapped by a masked Arisawa who violates Reiichirou in the dark. Reiichirou manages to escape and finds Himuro who becomes concerned with seeing Reiichirou's disheveled clothes. Himuro hugs Reiichirou and tells him he'll help him forget his trauma thus, the beginning of the last chapter (which is chapter 5 on here). Hope that helps! (=・ω・=)
May l ask where did you buy it ?
Thanks
how much is the hard copy? is it japanese raw or in english?
