I believe the kind of shoes Kirara is wearing are ballet flats. Usually women wear that type of shoe. I am going to guess that the author has him wearing those shoes to emphasize how feminine his appearance is. It also could be Kirara finds them comfortable to wear and I do find that they rather suite his character. :)

I'm exactly the same! So much so that, when they do these things in movies I instinctively cover my eyes to reduce how uncomfortable I am with the situation.
