Whoa I really miss scanlation dramas so nostalgiiic, nowadays we don’t see it anymore cause Korean webtoons are really booming and most of them have official translation so people just “pirated” it

with all the thumbs up i hope the translators don't decide to drop this manga like others did.

The BOOTLEG translators should drop it; and let the ORIGINAL group (Zandy Fansub) continue the translations like they’ve BEEN doing....

Zandy puts out good translations that makes sense, not a mix of English, Spanish, Spanglish.

I hope ZANDY Fansub continues this story like they originally were, and don’t get discouraged because of this disrespect.

Why write in a note that the translation is incorrect, the work won’t be good, and then step on the Zandy Fansub’s toes to release a half ass job as a secondary just for something “faster”?

I understand it had been (dropped) then ok, yea, I’d appreciate the efforts and wouldn’t have said anything. But IT WASN'T DROPPED! So why do this?

And to clarify, this isn’t my group (Zandy) ~~~But I have a scanlation group (LEWD) & I know how much work & time people put to give the readers content in English.

The people that don’t care what SCRAPS they get in translation & don’t care that a group is being disrespected just for their own measly gratification are scum.

Anyone getting upset about colour pages need to get off the internet and go outside for once

If they really respect the author they can just buy the original work

First, let me be clear that I am very grateful for the translation group for putting on so much effort in translating the mangas and making it possible for people like me, that can't read Japanese, to be able to enjoy some interesting stories.
But, while reading the last chapters and especially this last one, I strongly felt that the colored pages disrupted the flow of the reading and hindered my ability to get immersed in the plot and consequently my enjoyment of the story. They create a contrast with the black and white pages that distracted my attention. Furthermore, it happened a lot of times along the chapter.
So, at least for me, it is not a matter of disrespect to the author, as I agree with your argumentation 100%, but the fact that I couldn't read the manga as I was hoping to. But, of course, as I am not working I don't really have the right to complain.
Anyway, thank you very much for the translations. : )

Chill. I was just saying you saying why you didn’t like the colour pages cuz of it being double pages again is overkill. That group member already said they acknowledged what readers said, so they are compromising by limiting the amount of pages. You writing about why you don’t like it again is like beating a dead horse. They already said ok, right? So why bring it up again? That’s all I’m saying.

I just want to say thank you so much for everything your group does despite the risks and disrespect to the author, I know there are many others just like me how apppreciate it all so much!! So, basically, you are already disrespecting the author for illegally translating it, so why not go further with it? Disrespect has a limit for many people. Some might find it alright to translate it as long as it is not licensed, but some might not like it when someone goes and, besides doing it illegally, goes far and beyond and colour it as if it is a kiddy's book.
I am not saying this just to despite you, but for being an amateur artist myself and for living in japan. A few mangakas who I have at least seen might find it alright to translate it as long as it is not licensed, but they have a limit as well.
Of course, some might even like it, but some won't. My point is, if you know so well that what you are doing is wrong, stop pushing your luck and making the author wonder why the hell has his/her art become a children's coloring book.
One thing is a fanart. You go, draw it and paint it. Another is taking it and painting it. I have met many artists and people on this line, and never once have I ever met one who likes to have his art being painted over.
Well, but in the very least you guys are not so bad as to take out all of the author's credits and put your own names on it (yes, there was a case like that in brazil. It took me years to find out who the author of Love Neko was)

Thanks, this was really great of you and while i didn't have an issue with the colored pages (i thought they looked good), i DO think that your resolution to cut down on the sheer AMOUNT of them is a smart choice. It'll allow us to appreciate the color and also keep the immersion.

First of all, an artists doesn’t say other artists’ coloring is like a kid’s coloring which is a rude way to ‘criticize’ an artist
And well I haven’t seen many mangakas who enjoy their work translated,not buying the original work is more disrespectful. Also the thing with disrespect is already mentioned

I didn't call myself an artist, I clearly stated that I am nothing but an amateur. My acquaintances, however, are professionals. Besides, I have already met with people who likes to draw doujinshi. Nothing professional, but they are getting there. They did say that they did not pay any heed if it was being translated since it wasn't licensed anyway (plus, just a doujinshi for them), but they did say that people ''colouring'' it was another thing. What I stated was that translating is already disrespectful, but painting it is taking it to another level. The same way that it is plenty disrespectful coming from us, readers, to read it without paying. We are, as well, disrespecting the author.
What I stated was nothing but what I heard from people who do, actually, draw. They can get past people translating it..but they can't get past people actually changing the drawings they have made.
So, if they want so much to talk about disrespect, then in the very least look at what they are doing and tone it down or shut it down. My problem isn't even the disrespect itself. My problem are people hiding behind pretty words just so that they can do whatever they want. Pure hypocrisy, in my opinion.
But how would I know. But in the very least I don't go out trying to explain why I am doing something wrong that I know is wrong.

Lol!! 1 thing out of the 4-5 is ultimate? A few pages....versus ALL of the pages a scan group change into their own project???

While i don't see why the coloring would be a problem considering everything else that has been mentioned, i can also see the point @LallaLa is trying to make. Things stack up, just because 1 through 4 is okay, it doesn't mean 5 is and they're saying that, from their personal experience, coloring isn't okay to the artists that they've been around. I get your point, but at the same time, when your argument is "well they're already disrespecting the artist by doing this, this, this and this, so why not just keep adding onto it. They wouldn't care", you don't sound very credible. Why wouldn't they care? If i hit one of your immediate family members are you not going to care because i just pissed and shit on them before i hit them? No. Anger stacks. That's very common knowledge and that is what they were pointing out. They aren't making their own version of anything, they're telling us that, from someone with many artist friends, coloring in is a line.

I don't understand you, you say you're tired of the drama, but you're the one responding to @LallaLa who's original response was at the OP... Look back, you're the one who started arguing with them, they were just saying they don't appreciate a specific section of the OP's topic, the part where she tries to justify coloring in the pages by saying "i'm already disrespecting them, so why does it matter?". You started arguing with them even though you should've already been done on this topic as you'd already posted a response AND were intervening in other peoples' arguments to explain things and then @A La Mode Yaoi Fellatio started in on them too with you both ganging up. Are people not allowed to disagree with that portion of the OP's topic without you coming in and freaking out telling them not to post?

You also seem to have misunderstood here^. @LallaLa never gave their opinion of the colored pages. What was said is that the pages are being colored in like a coloring book, you're the one who made inferences and got pissed off thinking they were insulting Ryoko's art. You did the same to me too... I think YOU need to take a step back from all this as you're assuming any even slightly negative feedback is specifically about the colored pages being bad.

I was just very gracious and kept talking to you even though you came in with an attitude talking about the colored pages like i don't like them. @Blackie: Looking back, i see AN apology, though what you say is "for the reply to the other topic", so i thought you were talking about another topic. I appreciate the apology, but it doesn't change the fact that, after your conflict with me, you moved on to do the same thing here. THIS is what my point was, NOT whether or not you apologized. I was pointing out that you did what you did to me, you assumed they hate the colored pages and started attacking them about it when that literally wasn't said. @Blackie: whether or not you apologized to me is entirely irrelevant to what i was saying and i didn't "lie", i looked back and saw the apology and said so... Your blatant attempt to keep the focus on the apology rather than what i was actually talking about without acknowledging what i literally just showed you doing both under my topic and here speaks for itself.

Also, you embarrassed yourself. You haven't proven anything by proving you apologized, you still attacked me and @LallaLa based on nothing but your assumptions. That is what is actually being discussed here and the link stays there to show what you did and continued to do there.

I agree with you. While I never did or would complain to the scanlation group about a couple of colored pages (because its really no big deal), it is the truth to say that the inclusion of double pages, colored or not, disrupts the flow of the reading and story immersion and comprehension. If the escalation group cared for a critique or were looking to improve in that area, then that would be my suggestion. But as they aren't and I'm plenty happy to read their scanlations at all, just as they enjoy coloring the pages, its really no problem.
