but I also can't help seeing the ML looking like the love-child of his aunt and that other Alpha friend in the sequel story LMAO, specially that last panel of him panting, yeah for sure that boy's the seme in this one (I know, I know the characters are underage now but it's fiction and we'd most likely see them grow eventually, plus it's Fargo cmon it'll be an even bigger plot twist if this actually continue to be shounen ai to the very end, IF it continues to have a regular run and not a short one like the sequel)
On another note, what was the author cooking by dragging back the maternal grandma to this plot? That character was and is a POS, her reconciliation attempt is not enough for the way she treated and left the MC's mom in the main story, and now she's getting chummy with the husband and son? should've ended her participation in the main story as is.
Also to the uploader who bulk released the chapters in one day, thank you so much for giving sustenance to plebs like me hahah.
I honestly don't have a problem with this, if I like a story and the lore gets expanded by the original creator, by all means please do, it'll be fun to catch glimpses of the characters that I knew from the earlier works and know what they've been up since then + at least the author's being experimental with it by trying to explore different pairing instead of being lazy and just repeating the same plots over and over or dragging the main story to the next ice age just coz she knows there's a fanbase who'll eat whatever she throws at it. Don't get me wrong it's not a masterpiece at all and the previous stories are actually problematic, but it was a good read, so I like seeing that there's actually more to it.
check out author's other work-- Kikonsha Desu Kedo, Nani ka? the uke is beefy and has the same vibe as the 2nd ML here, even has the same character design, except his hair is darker and he has no mole, plus artstyle is a bit different since it's one of the author's earlier works. It's just a bit awkward and silly for me to see the younger version of his father as having a strong resemblance to the Main ML here LMAO.
It's a good read, I was just ticked off in the earlier volume with the constant sexual harassment and then justifying it as okay coz the victim doesn't realize it anyway like wtf? it's a good thing it was acknowledged, though there wasn't really much reflection on it and the plot just made it okay again by having the top confirm that he wasn't bothered by it in the end (lol how convenient). Still a good read though, I like that they match each other's freak and I also like how the author made the ex-wife an actual character and not just a mob or caricature of an "evil" woman in yaoi, I really like how supportive they are of each other even if their marriage did not work.
Also this work really prepped me for that plot twist on the author's other work-- Work Love Balance coz the second ML there is like an updated version of the uke here, from the character design to the temperament and playboy lifestyle, it made me assume that he's really gunning for the seme in that story and he'll probably be a bott that looks like a top, same as this one, which is what's revealed on the latest chapter! (except the position part, he's still implied as a top based on his prev partners)
Really tried to like it coz the sides are enticing based on the socmed posts on my feed, but the main story is whacked and forgettable, lots of running away with lukewarm reasoning, even when the seme literally assures uke of his feelings and desires, the mf uke still runs away like crap; it's just chasing arcs over and over but with not enough heavy reason to make it satisfying; sure at the beginning it makes sense when the seme said there can never be more between them, but even that was suddenly overturned and he became whipped almost overnight + the uke even says that he was also using the seme himself so like the chasing arc just felt meh overall, and it's really bad that the author did it multiple times for almost always the same reasons lol. Not much development for either leads, but someone out there might still enjoy it, just not me.
It makes it more immersive and fun to see the bts of how they came up with the story, also the chibi versions of the characters are cute too + the artstyle's so scruffy but animated that I'm loving it altogether.
This was a really fun and fulfilling read, there was an action-packed plot that was pulled with enough chapters; very likeable characters, the villain's motive was kinda meh but I noticed a lot of villain's motives even in classic westerns are actually meh (it's either revenge for their dead wife or to settle some yo momma insult between drunkards) so this fits in quite well with that vibe. The pair's chemistry is off the charts too, I like how it transitioned throughout the plot, or maybe it's just coz I like daddy x twink trope myself? ehe. Hoping the author will do a sequel, but the ending's pretty great as is too.
Also for anyone craving another western BL, I'm here to tell you there's another good one out there I just can't for the life of me remember the title. The top's a blonde cowboy and the bottom's a native indian, there was a cringe panel there were the bottom called the top his "golden wolf" or lion or something hahahahah, but aside from that it's another solid read that's set in the old west. If any of ya'll know it, hit it up on this topic.
it's apparently on one of my list, it's this one, for those who'd like to check it out: https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/stranger/
I couldn't understand much about the fuzz on him being an illegitimate child coz my guy looks like the male version of the mother just paler lol, but it's implied that it's actually the father who cheated and had him with another woman? but then the father also claims that he loves his wife? it doesn't make sense.
it's either they did surrogacy coz the mom's one of those weak-ass mothers that die at the start of the story, OR the uke was adopted from some mysterious relative that they have to keep as a secret for the ~plot
you mean the mother or his "real" mother? because the mother is their dad's legit wife I believe, I mean he even has her pictures plastered all over the room and others recognize her as his wife too. If it's his "real" mother tho, it's still unlikely coz the father claims to love his wife, so what would be his reason for cheating? drunken mistake? political/business transaction?
you'd think so right? but there was a panel where he says he stands out because people from their kingdom has a typical look (olive skinned) which is proven by both the parents, even that butler bottom who wanted to sleep with seme, and heck even his turmeric-tinted bro falls within this description; it's really just his pale skin that's the issue, like if neither parents are pale, where did he get it? you might argue that it's recessive but both parents are local citizens too so eventho that's possible, it's still unlikely.
My bet is on his real mom/dad being the mother's relative who did it with some foreigner and then had to run away for some plot reason- this would explain why he still has the resemblance to her but at the same time he doesn't look local; but who knows, maybe one of the parents really did cheat?
Yeah, but like if some grandma or grandpa was "white" it would explain too. And as I understood, mom died, seo appeared. Like, mom died while giving birth, or not so later...
But that's not adding up too well.
Last thing is mom went away to do something, was raped, and had a child... but this is really just imagination
I think you're misunderstanding, as I did too for a bit because I too thought it's the mom who had him with another man, but the plot actually leans on the father having him with another woman, which is why I said it didn't make sense to me coz uke looks like the mother and the father loves his wife anyway, so what gives? Also if you read the most recent chapter, it said he was brought to the estate AFTER the mother's death, so if she really did carry him, then he should've been born at the estate in the first place + the bro should address her as "their" mother not just "his (bro)" mother if that was the case.
it's a different take for a BL, but that girl was really nice; her scenes were very brief but she came off as considerate and not pushy, she also had the integrity to be straightforward and ask directly what her chances are with the seme when they already spent a good amount of time with each other, and she still gracefully accepted it when she ultimately got turned down. If only the seme was not obsessed with the uke (and if he's at least bi), it's so easy to fall in love with her instead.
Uke in this work is meh, another one of those that some readers praise for being complex and relatable when all they are is just relatable to ya'll toxic ass-- if you find this trait realistic please do some introspection on yourself, this is just bleak and toxic af. Yes, he acknowledges his insecurity and he's reflective but he can't even communicate it properly and then just lashes out on the seme; it's not like it's the guy's fault that people simply like his work better wtf? this trait might work for a teenager, but for a grown ass adult? nah. Also he knows that the guy's in love with him and just decided to go with his advances on a whim even when he's not even sure of his feelings yet, and then had the audacity to say he hates him and runs away lol. I'll give a leeway that maybe it didn't work for me coz the translation's not the best, but out of all this author's works, this is surely one of the weakest by far.
I didn't say I'd rather they end up ONLY coz she's a girl-- I liked her character better than the uke that's why I said that, if she was another boy, my point remains the same-- I'd still want him to end up with the seme than the uke here. Dafuq u have no reading comprehension, dude?
You're exactly the kind of bad apple that give a bad name to the BL community coz you fetishize MLM so much that you can't even stand the possibility of having a good het pairing in a BL story (and yes, it does happen whether it's tragic where one marries a girl in the end, or the side couple is het, this kind of pairing does happen even in a BL)
Exactly like I see soooo many bad hetero stories where the man has more chemistry with another man but these kinda ppl will just ignore it and won't say a thing. But God forbid, everything not be perfect in a BL, then they will start wanting the man to end up with a woman. Like yes, please just go and read some str8 manga because there probably are ones that you will like instead of wishing that a man ends up with a woman in a BL
another rotten one, I see. did you even understand what I posted? you're just like that first brat who commented, honestly, such kid-like mindsets, it's like you just discovered BL and you're hang up on making everything that LOL. I'm a fan of this genre too, check out my profile if you want and you will see that virtually everything on my lists' exclusively BL, but despite that, I know a good plot and a good character when I see one, I don't delude myself that it's good just coz it's mlm and I don't discriminate on gender either .
Point exactly where I said I wanted them to end up coz it's a girl x boy pairing? if this was shoujo and everything is reversed where the uke is a girl and the girl in this story was a boy who was feeling up his chances with the ML, I will still ship him with the ML because I would still think the FL in that story sucks as just like the uke in this story sucks ass. It's not because they're a het pairing that I ship them, you could have that character be another boy, a trans, a frog, an apache helicopter- it wouldn't matter coz they'd still be a far better match to the ML than the toxic ass uke here, the seme deserves someone better than a whiny egocentric bish who can't take an L.
This is not the toxic story that you are making it out to be and the girl that you mentioned literally knows him for a very short time. They aren't even dating they are just trying to get to know each other. Also it is hinted at the initial few chapters that the seme is gay by the seme himself so wanting him to end up with a girl is just weird. He never expressed any romantic interest in the girl he was trying to move on but he couldn't ultimately catch feelings for her at all.
You can call me as many names as you want but doing all that is not going to change the fact you are doing too much over a normal story about growth and you're just bitter it's gay. To me it seems that even though you claim to like BL you are one of those homophobic fujoshis who would rather a man ends up with a random woman who he has known for a few days rather than a man who he has been in love with for years. Like yes the uke was shitty to him but he owned up to it later and he overcame his problems and if the seme is ok with that then that's his call because what the uke dod wasn't so unforgivable and that is what the story is about.
this uke literally used seme to feel better about himself, lashed out on him for no good reason, took it upon himself to see seme as competition when all the other guy did was breathe right next to him and do better output, ran away claiming he hates seme with no other explanation, goes no-contact for weeks, months even despite knowing the seme would worry about him and you call that not toxic? also, you claim he overcame his problem, lol where? he didn't communicate any of that shiz to seme, only we readers are aware of his "reflections", you call that one shitty panel where they met on the snow and he said I'm sorry "overcoming his problems"? LMAO, well I guess that's better than nothing but that wasn't communication at all, that was just him shooting his shot and being fortunate enough that the seme's a simp so he easily took him back.
Also, how dafuq is liking a character to end up with someone that's better for them homopohobic bish? it just so happened that the character was a girl this time, I couldn't care less whatever gender they are so long as they still have that same personality and character trait. You're just one of those creeps who villainize het coupling coz it doesn't fit in with your fetishistic way of seeing mlm. Folks like fr you're no better than those shitheads who say "gross" to mlm or wlw pairing in straight works, matter of fact ya'll both from the same sewer water for me, different streams but same sewer water still. Another thing, yeah the girl started off as someone random, but the seme himself called out to her when she was about to give up the first time, they spent time together and at that point she was no longer random at least to seme, the time when uke went no-contact, he spent all that with the girl, the author just didn't waste more panels on showing them hanging out together to focus on uke's pov which is understandable and makes more sense.
Great idc if you call me homophobic as a defence because you have no other point but I don't read str8 fiction tho I do think you should go back to reading it if you're that desperate for hetero pairings. Also don't you people have words other than fetishize romanticise sexualise??? Like just using the same words over and over and saying "Nuhuh I'm not homophobic you are!!" is not an argument.
Also u say u don't care what gender but you're still over here fighting me and wanting the hinted gay character to end up with a woman and calling me a fetishizer for saying that's weird. Like that is actual fetishization( wanting gay men to like women) not the other way around. Also I said that uke overcame his problems because he doesn't do the same shit he did before so to me that is overcoming because it isn't a bother for him or his bf anymore. I don't think the uke was "using" him by dating him honestly and it is literally shown that the seme is aware of the imbalance in their relationship in the further chapters and still choses to continue it.
Honestly I don't want to argue any further call me a fetishizer, whatever I don't care anyways
wtf, now I'm convinced you're some kid who got access to the net reading stuff you're not supposed to, absolutely no reading comprehension at all, did I sa I wanted them to end up coz the pairing would be straight? I said it over and over in case your puny little head still can't wrap itself around it- THE GENDER DOES NOT MATTER-- I like the character, I feel like it's better for the seme, so I wanted them to end up together, very simply, very basic, even a crayon-eating toddler can understand that.
Also when did I call you homophobic? I said you're no better than those you say shit like that in straight works not that you are one, it's you who jumped the gun and called me that without even providing proof on how I became homophobic in the first place like even now your substance is still shallower than puddle. I mean you even argue that the uke never used the seme, there was an actual legit panel in the actual freaking work with him admitting it, did you even read it for real? also, the seme understood the imbalance? are you for real? the seme exhibited traits of someone in the spectrum, he wouldn't get relationship imbalance even if it slaps him in the face, he just wanted the uke and went for it, as straightforward as any other folk in the spectrum would.
Another thing, you just admitted that you only read gay stuff, if that isn't fetishization then I don't know what is LOL, even actual people in the LGBT consume both gay AND straight materials, it's creeps like you who revolve yourself around one thing and then say "oh it's just a preference" piss off fr you're the type to give my gay friends the heeby jeevies coz you'd most likely be looking at them with malice all the time. You don't wanna argue anymore or you can't? coz so far all your answer has been circling back to your first one and you offered no substantial rebuttal at all.
lol, just coz you're gay doesn't excuse u from being a pos, so what if you're one? I am too, lots of my friends are too, and lots of my friends are straight as well, that's why I can say with confidence that normal, average people in the LGBT (and even hets) do read both gay and straight stuffs, that's just how it is, you enjoy the content as is. You're only using that as a last resort excuse to justify your weird ass creepy preference LMAO.
THIS right here is what makes him a grapist-- their previous "interaction" had some level of consent, even if the uke didn't like it at first, he wanted to do it to further his cause nonetheless. In this recent one, both of them are out of their minds and completely spiteful of each other, the seme even did it as a power move (which is the usual motive for real life SA cases) and the uke completely and openly expressed his disdain for it too. It's a fine line but I like how the author executed the difference/shift between the two scenarios this season. I just hope that the author toned down the smut for this scene instead because it can come off as romanticization to some (which I do see).
This also amplifies my resolve to have the plot route continue where the uke kills himself to make the seme suffer instead of offing the seme himself. The fact alone that he's allowing him to be killed by the uke implies he doesn't value his life just as much anymore, killing him would really be pointless, but him having to suffer a life without the uke whom he himself declared that he would not let go-- that's sure to have a great impact on his overall stability.
Seme is too persistent and never gives up on uke, acted like a creep around him (w/c some readers might look past due to his face card) and was not reflective of his actions and implications to the other boy's life, and then he kinda blackmails him to answer his feelings or lose him as a friend. Uke is more realistic in terms of his reflection and realization (considering he was straight) but too fickle and sometimes oblivious, it's an odd blend of being strong headed and a pushover which does not work. Meh for me, not much chemistry for me to continue reading the sides. The novel might be better and give more insight to the development of their relationship tho.
