They handled stuff like the age gap and such very well later on. And I mean... lots of people end up in situations where they have to make money in ways others would judge. Way more than you think. It doesn't mean a person can't fall in love or change their life. I'd say more, but it would spoil... so... I just hope people give it a shot.
in how a person treats their body, but this felt like an unhealthy standard. She's slender except for a tiny belly, but she and everyone around her treats her as "fat". She chooses to lose the couple of vanity pounds on her stomach NOT for health reasons or even her own confidence- she literally says she wants a body her future boyfriend would compliment. She bases her appearance of how a man would see her- a theoretical boyfriend that doesn't even exist yet. This story could've been about accepting yourself or even about her working out because she wants to be healthier or stronger. It feels weird that it's all about losing a few pounds to look skinny enough for men. ...and she was already slender.
I've had kids and was once quite overweight, medically speaking. I'm now on the slimmer side of a healthy weight, but would have to lose about 10% of my weight to look like her when she was "chubby". I would be furious if someone said I needed to lose weight to look good for a man... I'm healthy and it's my body, not some dude's. The way this comic framed being super skinny if you want men to like you... it feels messed up.
Ugh, sorry. It irritated me.
I can't understand why (ch 41) FL is like 'ah I'm so arrogant for offering help' when to me, going 'hey, I wanted this walk, but is it a bit much?' is just... considerate? And could not one of them flat out say 'gee, actually, it's not totally awful when I'm around you'... UGH. Is this a normal thing for other people? This doesn't even feel like any misunderstandings, it simply feels like they're both purposely pretending they know how to NOT subtly lie with every word.
I love overdramatic misunderstandings. But this feels like they're both having to work to find anything to misunderstand? I really liked this at first, but now my socially-blind self is going "ffs you guys, no one is gonna win anything if they can seem more ignorant than the other".
Blaaargh.
just Fn WHY was there no nice art in this chapter (78) like nearly every other chapter??? If it wasn't kinda 'off' because it was in motion or out of focus or whatever... then it was a some sorta chibi face or something. We didn't get any good shots for a single character! And almost nothing happened?? The art and unique plot has always made this one of the best. Wtf was chapter 78?? None of the great art OR actual plot development.
The emperor doesn't like a tea that helps prevent the mind control or whatevs. Wooooo. There could've been a single decent picture to make it better. Ah, please God, whatever powerful thing is out there, don't let this go downhill...
