This chapter reminds me of the scorpion and the frog story for some reason, so bittersweet
One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.
Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.
"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"
"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.
"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"
Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"
"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"
"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.
"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"
So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.
"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"
The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.
"I could not help myself. It is my nature."
Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.
Self destruction - "Its my Nature", said the Scorpion...
I see a lot of people confused/unsatisfied with the ending but you will have to get used to it, this artist is pretty unconventional with the endings, most of the works let you wishing for more or feeling empty lol It's like a trademark
Except this isn't complete. If you had read the author's note and the other comments you would know that. Also, this 'ending' is a lot more jarring than even this author's usual modus operandi. It felt like they dropped a plot thread that had so much potential for development. T.
Well... I'm IN for the art, the character is funny, and I'm guessing is one of those fantasy leveling mangas, I don't know if it'll be an Isekai, maybe... cause he doesn't remember anything but it feels more like martial artist than that, but I like that thing on his back so for now is a "YES" from me
She is a martial artist....
Some said "healer/doctor/alchemist" but she said so herself she was the last "cultivator" of the 24th century, that means she is one of those who meditate, train their Qi, learn martial arts, become saints and after a lot they become gods and ascend to heaven... she just went back in time to a world where cultivators are still a normal thing
I'm loving this but (like usual) I have some existential angsts, I mean he needs to beat the labyrinth to be able to go to heaven but if he does what will happen to the his girls? They are baby mobs so if he is gone what will they do???
they die ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ just like in games when the avatar dies his pets do too
it just feel like he'll beecomee the dungeon master, or become the last boss of the dungeon tho
Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 but if they all die then the feels will make us keep it in our hearts longer
indeed, still would be an asshole move, welp as long as he doesn't age them up and it becomes an harem i guess it's ok
XD wait ya want a under age harem?
wait how did you end up talking about harems? lol I don't think that is possible, the MC acts like a cranky old man, I dont think he is capable of any kind of romance yet he really is a caring parent. Plus: he didn't even care about the elf so he has no libido it seems
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ nini said as long as he doesnt age them up and it becomes an heram i guess its ok,
( ̄∇ ̄") but if he does not age them up it will become a under age harem...
ヽ(`Д´)ノ and in the end the mc is a cranky old man who needs harem when you got legs that can kill all
that didn't even pass byy my head XD
i'm just been meh with all the harem iseekai/transportation mangas OTL.
i was mostly talking bout harem cause of the choice to age them up when they lvl up.
it would suck if it became something like harem seeing as all the monsters he summons seem to be female.
well they look like toddlers right now so aging them up once would be useful for fighting purposes (I don't want to see them fight while being so small) and it's called "Nursery" so I dont think the writer was thinking of the usual harem-plot it's more like "daddy's girls" kind of plot, a savage man that's actually a fool when it comes to his kids, but we'll have to wait and see
Instead of dying, they could just be sent back to wherever he summoned them from
