I can’t presume anyone’s sexualities here, but as an avid yaoi reader, a lot of the readers are straight females. Most of the time it’s this over the top fetishisation of gay men that attracted them to the story. This isn’t to say everyone who reads yaoi is like this. I know there are gay men, bi women, even lesbians who read yaoi, but this has always been a problems with this community. The fact that people clicked on this manga, knowing very dang well it’s a gender bend and josei expecting mostly yaoi scenes, kind of proves this point of the community over fetishising gay men and their relationships. To make it clear, yes, josei genderbends do tend to end in a yaoi couple, but the matter of the fact is, gender bend is a fetish in itself. I personally don’t understand wanting it to be all yaoi, as a bi women especially. Not to mention there are TONS of quick paces yaoi with similar art styles and half baked plots. Just saying, if you’re offended by people saying you’re fetishising gay men, that’s a you thing, not a me thing.

It jsut so happens that the flow of the story was leaning to the other side, making chowon the 'intruder/third wheel' but when we really think of it, in true to life situation, I think chowon was just doing his best to save his dying relationship. No person would just sit and watch while his life is going through shits. Having a dick of a husband who had no 'feelings and compassion' for your is not a happy thing. Anyone would react negativity when they don't feel secure towards their partner's feelings. In his case, he went nuts. Good thing he finally found someone who will treasure him.

Not to excuse her possessive and fetishising of our male mc here, but I think there’s a reason as to why she’s acting the way she is. My theory is that she was probably raped and abused during her time in university or high school (somewhat evident by the fact that people have said that she was the most beautiful/would be lucky to get with her) and probably has severe trauma that stems from that. So males, or probably more specifically, penises are something that she hates, but isn’t lesbian so doesn’t seek a female companion. So now knowing the male mc does not have male genitalia/is castrated, she thinks he might be the one for him and won’t betray her like the other men in or life has. It’s not excusable, but this is more for the people calling her a crazy psycho bitch when there’s a plausible enough explanation for her behaviour
So this has 6 stars... and I’m confused by how low it is, especially when there are down right trash BL out there with higher ratings then this. I get that it may be a bit confusing to people who don’t remember every detail of Death Note, mind you it did take me a hot minute to realise what was happening, but when I did, everything clicked into place and this actually became a very tragic but well thought out doujunshi. Even if the the ambiguity of the story was confusing, that shouldn’t subtract from the art and the expression the art allowed this manga to have. If we substituted the death note plot for something else, I think this would’ve had a higher rating. Such a shame though
