second time rereading season 1 and ive noticed something moondae doesnt seem to realize himself--this dude is mentally 29 years old and all the contestants around him are like, at most 21 with the exception of the one guy who's 25(i think?). i think they instinctively feel safer around him because he gives off the vibe of like, being an experienced, mature adult. like, im on ch30, the second performance right? you see how they automatically ask for his opinions or seek him out? **especially the socially awkward contestants**? no one notices, but moondae is very well the only responsible adult around considering the producer team only focuses on getting good footage rather then ensuring the well-being of these old teenagers.
ohhh my god eugene specifically going to their dorm but getting comforted by moondae instead. i love this kind of storytelling like there's no actual antagonists in the contestants, they're all just dumb kids
