(I only saw the previews of the future chapter and not the full chapters + used machine translate- so don’t quote me on this)
So looks like arahata (hair over eyes/mole dude) explained that the bj incident was because he drunkenly mistook kiyo (older bro) as Fumi (younger bro). Meaning he thought he was sucking off fumi during the event. What’s wild is not only glasses guy saw that happen but Fumi did too (they both peaked through the door and saw what happened at the same time).
The thing is both brothers seem to say “my brother stole the person I liked.” No kidding that BOTH said it about each other. The funny thing is that both were incorrect about that. So Fumi asked glasses dude to go out with him back then, and Kiyo liked glasses dude. Glasses dude is kiyo’s first love. Kiyo mistakenly believed they went out and gave up and distanced himself. So Kiyo was thinking “my brother stole my first love.” Then that bj event and Fumi says the same “my brother stole my first love.”

My honest opinion is I think mole guy and fumi were kinda more in the wrong? Fumi always seemed to blame his brother for being more popular while Kiyo doted on his brother. I just think Fumi doesn’t give af and does what he wants and will confess to whoever he likes regardless of whether he thinks his brother likes the same person. And the mole dude also is odd for not clearing things up about what happened with Kiyo right away. Why didn’t he talk to him as to why he sucked his dick?? I also don’t think being involved with one brother after you gave a bj to the other, is a good idea, no matter if he had feelings for fumi in the first place.

So saw the raws on b&TO. And it was chill for 4 volumes, nothing big happened. It was pretty smooth sailing with their relationship development and the teacher wasn’t an actual obstacle to them getting together. Then came the fifth and final volume. It’s like the author wanted to ruin their manga for the sake of cramming in drama in the final arc and then resolving it like crap.
Basically ML and FL are at a festival and are having fun, then run into the teacher. The ML immediately just wants to leave and the teacher tries talking to him but falls down the stairs and gets injured/knocked out. He immediately lets go of the FL’s hand, calls out “eri!” (Her name) and runs to her. Then proceeds to go with her in the ambulance and leave FL behind. He also doesn’t answer any of the FL’s calls afterwards and then finally his first text is “teacher is safe.” Then he shows up at school to talk to FL, and of course the typical “I gotta take responsibility” bullshit. Saying that the teacher is really injured and even has amnesia, and that she has no one else to take care of her cause her parents are gone too. FLs like “how long will you take care of her? Forever if she doesn’t get her memory back?” He apologizes a lot and leaves (basically a break up).
He basically takes care of the teacher and thinks of his past of how they met and even got together. Which btw if you didn’t think it was bad enough that she’s a highschool teacher who dated her student, she met him when he was in middle school and she was his tutor. (I believe she was a college student at that time). He thinks of how during that time she was a comfort to him cause his mom died and he was going through a dark time in his life. So now he feels like he has to be the one to comfort her during her hard time. Anyways as this is all happening there’s a rival and of course ML is upset seeing the rival and FL being close. He’s sad, etc. Then the teacher gets back her memories after like a month, and you know the first thing she does? She confesses that she still loves ML. So if it wasn’t bad enough that she knows it ain’t right she still wanted to continue the relationship. Anyways ML rejects her saying that he used to like her and she accepts it telling him she knows he likes someone else now and to go to her.
The issue gets resolved when he runs to FL and sees the rival almost kiss FL but stops him. Then ML confesses his feelings for FL, talking about how he promises to do this and that. Rival easily backs off and leaves them to talk. And she cries and takes the ML back. Then there goes the scenes of them smiling and graduating. So the issue and resolution all happens in 5 chapters. No groveling from the ML other than being sad when he was apart from FL seeing her hang out with the rival. FL didn’t give him a hard time either and easily accepted him. But yknow what else can you expect from the textbook cliche shoujo manga. This reminds me of that one manga that got uploaded to w3bto0n with a similar premise (ML exes with teacher), and it spent like 100 chapters of ML still loving the teacher to the end, while the FL catches feelings for him at one point and she’s just supporting his love. Then at the very end when ML and the teacher finally get closure, FL confesses and ML just smiles, open ending. So no progress and a waste of time.

So I started this story cause I was bored and thought it’d be a simple read to pass the time. What I didn’t expect was to be so entertained the entire story that I read it all in one sitting, just clicking next chapter each time. The FL is entertaining and the FL and ML’s relationship is fun. I do think after the first season, the pacing got a bit fast. And even faster in the final chapters leading up to the ending.
Mention of spoilers (some of this contains parts talking about the second season, so if you haven’t caught up to the translated parts and don’t wanna know, don’t read):

So the rushed parts id see is when it came to FL and ML’s confession scenes. It was a rollercoaster cause one moment FL would be like “no I won’t show my feelings” then the next moment she suddenly confesses, then the next moment she is hesitating and avoiding him to accept his confession due to thinking about handling dating a celeb, and then accepts his confession right after. And then the ML also doing the same. I think the ML’s confession was sudden and came out of nowhere, it happened so casually when he was struggling to accept it before. I would’ve liked it if there was a scene where he was thinking about his feelings before the confession, that way it’d connect and the readers could tell it would lead up to him wanting to confess. Not like how he listened to FL reject him and then the next chapter he confesses right away without any reader seeing into his thoughts thinking he’d do that. These were just some of the things I wish were paced better, but overall it wasn’t bad to read and still light hearted since they resolved things quickly.
Now onto future untranslated chapters:

A lot happens in just 8 chapters up to the ending, and I honestly think this is the most rushed part. It’s like all the issues came to a resolution one after another right up to the ending. It all was resolved so easily while also adding all the most dramatic parts at the end. Like there were 3 big issues and they all were resolved at once. I think it would’ve been better had the problems been solved over time throughout the story. Cause shoving all the resolutions at the end makes it feel rushed. Like the conclusion of the FL’s ex finished in like 2 chapters, all on its own. The issue with FL’s mom was resolved in a single chapter, which was kinda lacking since it was supposed to be a final reuniting/confrontation with her mom but it ended so quick with FL just saying she didn’t want to see her and the mom was like “ok bye!” Though I do like how it added in info about the dad in that part and the reveal.
Then the issue with the ML’s ex and brother. The ex situation escalated to a point I didn’t expect and also got resolved on its own with ML not even talking to her. The last time he actually saw her was the time she brought him food (never got that thermos back), which was a shame cause I really wanted him to have a final confrontation with her. She was a lot crazier than I thought. And the brother situation was resolved on its own too without ML actually doing much.
This all happens in the last chapters:
-scandal about mc
-car accident/murder plot
So two of those scheming girls used these opportunities to ruin FL. The idol chick FL’s ex is seeing tried to expose the history of FL dating the ex. And the ML’s ex also did the same thing and tried to make the scandal about ML and FL, that failed so she participated in scheming murdering FL. This all was resolved within 2 chapters each (maybe less than that). I think it would’ve better had it been written to lead up to that. Like adding in hints of how crazy the ML’s ex is or that she was plotting to do something. It’s like the plans or hints happened off screen and the results occurred on screen. It came outta nowhere. But despite what looks like way too many complaints, I still enjoyed the characters and story. It’s a light read and funny.

I think the art changed a bit
╥﹏╥
It’s especially apparent when the ML is front facing and his face is so much smaller, eyes bigger, and his chin is so pointy while his neck looks thin. If you compare how he looked in season 1 he looks way better then. Like chapter 31 for example. His neck at least fit where the jaw is- a neck thinner than where the jaw connects looks odd. The art became more simple. I believe the art started changing around chapter 54. His head started shrinking around that time. It isn’t bad when there’s close ups though

I’m seeing a theme here that’s funny and so different from how it used to be. It’s all the same MC’s bf/ex turned bad when he used to be sweet before. Readers who read, “10 years where I loved you the most” all hated the bf/ex to the end and acknowledged he was a bad guy, never believing he could change or wished he went back to how he used to be. Now newer stories come out with a similar situation and readers have hopeful thinking the bf/ex could change or wished he’d stayed the same based on those good memories. Take this story for example and the straight story, “tears on a withered flower.” It is pretty crazy how different the readers thoughts are in comparison to those who read 10 years where I loved you the most.” The funny thing is, the ex/bf does WORSE in this story and TOAWF compared to the other story, but people love them more.
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I’m convinced that people also are like those MC’s who are in denial and get swept off their feet only on the good memories in the past, rather than care more about all the bad things they’ve down and how the character is now.

indeed. TYILYTM was traumatic. I guess the difference was how the story conveyed that’s why there is a variance with the audience’s reactions. With TYILYTM, most of the POV was on the uke’s side and the seme’s POV was shown in the latter chapters which made the audience hate him even more bec of how stupid he was acting. On the other hand, this story shows both POVs in the get go in order for the plot to progress. Readers are able to make their generalizations with the characters as the plot thickens because there is more information to work with for each character. That probably explains why there is such a stark difference with how people perceive the characters of this story.
Personally, I get why a lot of people would find this story off putting and why it’s scored as 9.1. But I feel like the closer a story is to reality, more people would be against it because most are going into reading to escape reality, not to read an extension of it lol. Fiction is more popular than non-fiction because it makes you feel better. Stories like these and probably like Harada’s are a grim depiction of the horrid reality which makes people uncomfortable especially since violence, r*pe are portrayed without any filter unlike TYILYTM.

I honestly think the concept and the two main characters are cute. But I can see why people complain about the lack of chemistry. I honestly think it comes down to the art. Apparently those who read the novel said the chemistry was better there. I think the artist has a pretty art style but I can see where their strength and weakness is. Their strength is making beautiful faces and their weakness is anatomy/body posing. Now props to the artist because in general anatomy is like one of the top hardest things to work on. But it’s true that it’s hard to ignore in this manhwa. When looking at close up art on their faces, it looks perfectly fine. But when there’s a panel showing the torso and arms, it looks awkward and their bodies look smaller. It’s very apparent when the ML and FL stand next to each other and you’re looking at their side profiles.
Along with the intimate skinship such as hugging, the art of the bodies look stiff and comes off as awkward which many believe is the source of it looking like there’s no chemistry and looks unnatural. Like chapter 88 when ML is holding her cheek and has a hand on her waist, there’s so much space and his right arm is non-existent. Chapter 90, when they’re hugging each other you can see their bodies look off. And when he has her hand on her shoulder in another panel, FL’s body shrinks and her arms look so much tinier. Anyways I’m not trying to bash the artist, I’m just pointing out details as to why the art may giving off stiffness and that can rub off onto the feel of the character’s relationships. I still give props to the artist since making a comic is hard work and exhausting, I don’t expect superior art and consistency in every single panel. It’s the reason why so many smaller authors/artists on w3 b to0ns discontinue their work, it’s a draining and stressful job lol.
I’m fr ready to see the bitch sis and piss dog brutally get offed. They’re the most annoying out of everyone. All they do is whine while acting scared. How is it even possible to get angry thinking you’ll be intimidating while also trembling in freight at the ML.
