I mean to be fair Zigril ain’t giving him much of a choice with the whole baby trapping and “I just revealed you were supposed to be an executed noble oops”, plus MC has always been on the passive side throughout the story, just acting for his survival. I do think it’d be a pretty interesting story if he did have a more resistant personality, though in that case he might also have just gotten himself killed

Honestly with his personality which always set to survival mode it makes sense that he is passive toward zigril he tried to escape and almost died if he doesn’t become empress he dies what more can he do?

What exactly u wanted him to do, it was either marry or get beheaded. He had no choice at this point and he's pregnant with a child so ofc he would've accepted the conditions.

To be fair.. anyone in his situation that had half a brain would be as passive as him.. its the most logical choice for anyone to make especially with child.

true but i still think that a bit of a back bone was needed. I mean he survived up untill now so he must be somewhat capable of something? He already dismissed the rapes and just accepted anything. Like what kind of character does he have if he had any. Also acting of survival doesn't mean you take any shit that comes your way, you play with strategy and build a plan, not go along with just anything. That doesn't ensure survival

But I feel like by coming up with basically any plan against Zigril/trying to escape from him Kay would be threatening his own survival and safest option just to live would be staying with the yandere, though ofc this would be a bad choice for his self-autonomy and dignity. Maybe if Kay rly hated Zigril he would try to find another way to escape but the story makes it seem like he is attracted to him enough that he can let himself be Stockholm syndromed
