That was anti-climatic to say the least.
They build up this evil women and all her deeds then before he nails her for it all he just runs away - honestly, I'm disappointed with the abrupt ending. I feel like I have such a superficial understanding of all the characters seeing as I could barely tell if running away from his problems, sacrificing all his money (somehow??), and giving up his fight against his mother was in character or out of character - and if Merry accepting Hying's resignation from his duty and the fight he's been heading against her for years was something his character would or wouldn't do? Frankly, I think after a hundred and fifty chapters of resentiment and unfolding the mystery of his mother's crimes against Merry and Anemone, they both wouldn't be so quick to forget and move on...
Tbh I was still waiting for someone to mention Robin. Like his and Anemone's storyline just vanish after he got stabbed, I wasn't even sure if he was dead (last few chapters showed the answer was yes), then suddenly she's got a baby - we barely saw her pregnant and we never see her reaction to Robin dying. Merry and her had a sweet relationship but in the end they don't even talk. The authors just like 'oh yeah, her! Maybe I should deal with that storyline' at the end, so they get divorced ignoring the reasons why they got married in the first place - rendering that whole idea moot.
Another thing (last point I promise) - Dori and the Chef's relationship is barely touched upon by the end. They build it up and it becomes a newly blossoming thing, but the webtoon ends so abruptly you don't even see them engage each other as a couple, so their whole storyline seems like a waste of time.
Thumbs up if you agree with any of this ^^
*reads first chapter* yup, uh huh, yes please *immediately adds to now reading*
same!
