I like this so much but ugh I hate in yaoi there's this trope that if the ex gf cheats and leaves it's probably the guy's fault cause he didn't fight for her... like what? Like the sister's bullshit "test" of "oh I cheated on you because I wanted you to tell me not to leave", and the manga acting like Shiga had a revelation that he was actually the bad guy because he didn't stop her. Like no. How was he supposed to read her fucking mind? Good people talk to their partner, discuss feelings, and don't cheat on one another. The sister is a bitch for cheating on his ass even though he was loyal and truly loved her.
Also, while we're talking about how fucked up the Suzuki family is, the dad fucking sucks. Like he set Tarou up for failure since childhood. Having an older sibling myself, I know just how easy it is to compare yourself to them and wonder if you'll be able to do as well as them. My parents constantly encouraged me though and insisted that we were different people who had different talents. Putting your child down isn't going to make them work harder, it's only going to keep them down. If you condition your child to think that no matter how hard they work they'll never be good enough, they will obviously lose the motivation to put effort in because they don't think it'll amount to anything. His dad sucks for alienating him and acting like it's his own fault that he doesn't have a backbone. Also the sister additionally sucks in this aspect because she literally talked shit about her own brother to Shiga. That is until our boy was like "nah he's fine", and she all of a sudden did a 180 and basically says "he actually works really hard and disregard my comments about him being a handful and bad from like 5 seconds ago teehee".
Tarou and Shiga deserved so much better and I guess that's why they ended up happy together.
I personally don't mind cliches but there was just too much skimmed over. Also am I the only one that feels bad for the brother? The only reason why seme came back to take over the company is because of the uke. Imagine working your whole life for a company and your brother, who isn't passionate about the company, becomes the CEO just because your dad likes him better? I would be pissed too. Not enough to lie and threaten someone, but still... Also I felt like big bro had more character than seme if we're being honest.
I get that Cabel is really scary to MC and I understand her fear and why she wouldn't want to tell him it was a mistake
But I'm also for common sense and she should realize that he would probably be way more mad at her (like he is now) if he found out she lead him on, rather than just being honest about being drunk and accidentally confessing to him from the beginning
Like idk I just don't like how she's justifying the fact that she's playing with his feelings and hurting him by saying "oh he's scary and creepy and he'll kill me"
Like you fucked up, own up to it, just because he's scary doesn't mean you're not doing something wrong by playing with him
I would honestly be more ok with the false confession if she felt guilty like at all for leading him on but continues anyway bc she acknowledges that she's scared of him but it feels more like she's annoyed that Cabel is misunderstanding despite her never clearing up the misunderstanding and is low-key pushing the blame on him for what happened, like oh I THOUGHT HE WOULD REJECT ME or HES SCARY AND GOING TO KILL ME SO I CANT SAY ANYTHING
Maybe that's just my 2 cents though
I think there's a difference between disliking this for the genre and disliking this because of the story.
Like if you don't like it solely because it's shotacon, then I'm sorry but it's tagged as shotacon. Don't read the book if you don't like the genre. That's literally like reading porn even if you don't like porn then being like oh it's bad because it had sex in it.
However, if you don't like it because of the plot then I think you have a point. Todoroki straight up deceived Midoriya and lied to him just to fuck him. Even if he was an adult, the story's missing something imo. I just feel like the author just glossed over it and was like it's a happy ending, forget about all the manipulation that happened in this novel!!
That's just my personal opinion though ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
If masaki doesn't get a spin off we riot
