We are "watching" a psychopath become "obessed" with the MC. If the author stays true to this psychopath diagnosis then he will never love the Mc in the way neurotypicals except. And I expect more BS till the end.

I have never seen a story have such quick resolutions of misunderstanding/miscommunication. Even the "secrets" aren't secrets that long.
