So obviously unrequited love is hard. Especially in this case were Fumi was not only hiding his love from his bestfriend, but his sexuality. But the fact that Fumi endured all of that, what must have been extremely difficult, is no excuse for the way he continued to doubt Shunpei through the whole story. At almost every point, Fumi reverted into himself and made the situation that much more stressing on their new relationship. I wish he would've spent more time being happy to be with Shunpei than doubting him. Shunpei is nervous about sex, Fumi thinks that Shunpei will never love him. Shunpei is worried about guy hitting on Fumi, Fumi is upset because he thinks Shunpei isn't attracted to him enough.
Shunpei's ex girlfriend texts him and he doesn't reply, Fumi thinks Shunpei will dump him immediately and goes to the guy who was hitting on him. I like Fumi a lot, but it was difficult to see him end up in the same place concerning his relationship with Shunpei everytime something came up and then ignore or blame Shunpei. It's true, relationships take work and so it's a good thing that both characters grew throughout the book.

These two were my favorite characters by far. I really wish more time would've been dedicated to them, but I'm happy with what I could get (when I reread I skip the other couple cuz ummm they make me feel weird).
Here's something I never understood:
When Hayato confessed he played it off like it was a joke. Ryou could tell that it really probably wasn't a joke, but decided to follow Hayato 's lead and let him say and do as he wanted. Now I can understand why Ryou would feel bad about Hayato dealing with this and stressing by himself over the confession, but why did Hayato's boss have to make it seem like Ryou was the one who messed up? Both times that Ryou talked to Hayato about the situation, (the 1st time during the confession and the 2nd time in the kitchen (excluding the final time)) Hayato insisted it was a joke. Idk what Ryou was supposed to do at that point beyond giving Hayato space and hoping that it works out for the best. Though the boss was helpful in helping to push them along, I was irritated by him blaming Ryou for taking Hayato's words seriously over trying to push Hayato because he knew the truth. Not everyone is super aggressive like like that in situations like this. Some people are more the type to take other's words seriously and I think that's ok too.
