I’ve read ahead on the raws and here’s just a few things if anyone’s interested. Will update as more chapters come up I’m at 30+ chaps in rn

1. Louis slept with the Crown Prince that night, the child is also the Crown Prince’s. The Crown Prince was wearing a red wig to the masquerade, hence why it then appears that the guy he went into the motel with was red haired — Louis reasons that this appearance could be due to poor lighting, which caused the person who saw them to mistake the brown hair of the Duke to be red.
- on the night of, the Duke confesses to Louis and then told him to wait for him. Meanwhile the crown prince’s carriage passes by (with his date from the ball, who he promptly ditches) and he spots Louis; Louis got on the carriage with the prince and essentially they end up sleeping together
- the Prince notes that while having drank alcohol, Louis does not appear to be intoxicated and presumes that Louis knows it is him he is sleeping with. Louis and the Prince are both well acquainted since their youth, and so the Prince leaves the note to call him (without leaving a number or name) — but when Louis fails to do so after, he gets upset and does not contact him in the next 4 months
- Louis decides to keep the child after he keeps having dreams of the dragon. The prince finds out about the pregnancy, but multiple misunderstandings occur: both of them mistakenly believe the child is the duke’s, the prince finds out about Louis’s initial plan to get rid of the child and agrees with it thinking its the Duke’s child etc.

2. The Crown prince has been harboring a crush on Louis since their time together as youths in the training academy.
Louis is the white rabbit that the prince talks about, if that isn’t clear enough

3. The Duke is possibly behind both the murderer and the drugging Louis 4 months ago. But this is just my conjecture at this point.
- mentioned above, Louis doesn’t appear drunk but has no recollection of the events. The situation came about only after he was speaking to the Duke.
- He meets the Duke at his estate at a later point to reject his advanced, to see him covered in blood. The Duke’s excuse is that he killed a deer — Louis wonders what large deer needs him to personally kill it, and is instantly suspicious asking to see the deer itself, but the Duke claims the hunt was too poor to be shown to Louis. He eventually shows a bloodied deer to Louis in the dungeons, who promptly feels nauseous at the sight. Nothing concrete but suspicious nonetheless.
- in that same visit both his butler and the duke himself offer Louis tea multiple times; Louis appears to take a sip but doesn’t (due to his morning sickness), and when the Duke is rejected, he seems to appear to try to compel Louis into staying — at which point Louis is saved by a a command from the Crown Prince to return to the palace.

Randolf is essentially Wolfgang's foil, from their appearances to their backstories. They're mirrors of each other, similar but also different in many ways.

Wolfgang, who is born with gold eyes and gold hair. He grows up with his mother, who keeps him hidden from the King. His mother burns, in a house set alight by the King. He has friends and comrades who trust him. He steals food, but he never touches supplies from the Royal Palace. He hates the King and he kills the King, and in turn becomes the King. In this process, he also grows to have friends and allies, and he grows to love Shin. By the time he meets Randolf, he's happy and for the most part he's content.

Meanwhile, Randolf, born with gold eyes but with dark hair. He also grows up with his mother. However, unlike Wolfgang's mother, his mother desperately wants him to be seen by the King, and longs for the King's providence. Randolf steals food specifically from the Royal Palace. Like Wolfgang, he too, grows to hate the King, wanting to enact revenge on the King. He's angry, bitter and alone in spite of the fact that he has many other siblings with him in the same place.

I just thought how well done the author illustrated how their color of hair has made all the difference in their life paths. If Randolf had been born with golden hair, wouldn't he too be able to be like Wolfgang?

i follow the raws religiously in chinese (new ep every wed btw in case anyone is interested, raws are up to 86) and chapters 80-81 are GOLD.

is that you're reading all this with the knowledge that CH1 happens sometime in the future and that they'll go on to be happy and all loved up

Honestly some of you guys in the comment section need help, like seriously get a psychologist or a counsellor because seriously, there's so many bloody red flags in Ed and Chang's relationship? So many people in the comments shipping Chang and Ed, wishing they would have sex, saying he's hot and totally your type. Like there's no way anyone should be glamorising or fantasizing about Chang's behavior and I think people need to get that clear in the first place.

First putting all spoilers aside, just looking at Chang's behavior – NONE of it is remotely okay, to a person, to a friend, or to a lover. No one should be treating ANYONE in that manner and if someone treats you like that, you should get the hell out of that relationship and never see that person again. In the first place Chang extorts Ed for money, giving him impossibly high interest to pay back for a debt Ed never asked him for. At several points he controls Ed's actions and never lets him say no, even seeing how uncomfortable and repulsed Ed is. He taunts him, he calls him names, he's downright derogatory and basically treats Ed like trash every single time he speaks to him. And then as if all that is not enough, he goes on and RAPES him, despite the fact that Ed verbalises "no" several times, he rapes him in spite of the fact that Ed fights him off, physically, and Ed tries to leave time after time. All of this is explicitly written, explicitly drawn. It is unequivocally rape. Without question. His loving Ed is secondary to his actions. His physical appearance is WAY WAY secondary to whatever his actions are. His, idk, whatever the fuck "chemistry" with Ed is secondary to his actions. Because none of that, CONDONES or EXCUSES his behavior. NOTHING can condone or excuse a thing as rape.

Secondly, people in the comment section saying Ed "asked for it" or he "seduced him". This is victim blaming. A no simply means NO. No matter the circumstances, let alone in such a case where it was clear beyond doubt that Ed DID NOT want to have sex with him. No, its not Ed's fault that Chang raped him because he DID NOT even have a choice.

And third, no its not JUST some dumb story and we're not supposed to all just say "hey! Rape is fine because its fictional!" Because WTF? In every and any context, Rape is wrong. This may be a story, a manhwa, but all the same it is a reflection of real life situations that DO happen to real people out there. And let me tell you something – it fucking sucks. It's shit. It's disgusting. I know of people who've been sexually assaulted, and I've seen how these people, men or women, blaming themselves, feeling dirty, feeling ashamed, people falling into depression, having PTSD, being unable to ever look a man in the eye again without the crippling fear. There are people out there who have to deal with this. And if you start normalising this kind of behavior in fiction, you'll also begin to normalise this behavior in real life. You'll go on and carry this attitude towards real victims. And for those many many of you that are still so young, you'll go on and think "its okay if my partner controls me," or "its okay if he has sex with me even if im unwilling, because he's HOT or because he loves me". If you meet a man like Chang, its a fucking red flag and I hope at the very least that you remember whatever you read here and RUN.

not really a spoiler but the manhua ends ch44, with an additional epilogue. the conflict is all wrapped up actually, and we're in the home stretch which wraps up the events of the chapters prior

Youngjoon makes it into the majors. Hyun and him go to have a meal to celebrate, and the junior called youngjoon and hyun got jealous again lmao. Hyun says that the junior is young and cute, and youngjoon tells him the junior only admires him as a senior, hyun then responds saying well thats how it started for me as well, so what if this junior also falls in love with you, with how kind youngjoon is to him will he also tolerate/accept having this junior around the same way he allows Hyun to stay around him. Youngjoon says he doesn't just accept that for anyone.

then later youngjoon's dad happens to call him, and dad joins both of them. Hyun and dad get along well, and youngjoon muses that he probably got his "weakness for good looking people" from dad, who is very taken by Hyun. They start talking about youngjoon's living situation now that he'll be in the majors (and i think he'll be in a different stadium? or something). Youngjoon says he'll just transmute from his current dorm which is 1.5h away. Hyun then suggests how about you stay with me, i even have a car and dad is like YES BY ALL MEANS. so.

yeah they start living together, and youngjoon starts to cook. Hyun comments that it feels like newlyweds.

Yes they have sex. Lol hyun even goes out to buy them condoms and lube while youngjoon has a minor freak out in the shower. Youngjoon wonders if it will hurt and asks if Hyun doesn’t mind if he tops instead; and Hyun’s like I’m fine with anything, but in the end Youngjoon ends up deciding to bottom. And Hyun asks if Youngjoon hurts, but Youngjoon is like mentally “no it doesn’t hurt that’s why its weird”. The sex isn’t explicit, unfortunately. You just get a scene of their heads and then cut to the outside background of their room and some sfx hahaha.

The scene in the preview where Youngjoon is questioning (his sanity) why he and Hyun had sex occurs during trainings and not during the actual play off. But there are some interviewers there where they ask Hyun if him and Youngjoon are close. And Hyun’s like yeah, we are roomates etc. And then says he likes Youngjoon (which causes Youngjoon some panic) but then says follows up by saying he is really supportive etc.
