
It's horrific but it's most likely because he was made that way. He's like a robot who was programmed to keep a town alive and kills anything that might harm that town. He is just learning what love is so it'll take a bunch to get him to the point of caring for more than what he sees as his responsibility.

Is it following some clichés? Absolutely, but I'm having fun anyway because at least Louise has a spine and her family is amazing. Besides, as much as running into a burning building isn't smart she does end up doing things that help win people to her side. Also as someone who has had to evacuate due to forest fires I can confidently say that sometimes you do dumb things when you panic. She's not half as dumb as other main characters I've read about.
I thought I'd be okay with this many chapters but I need more! She finally gained common sense and things are moving. I should have just not started until it was complete
