I think the translators forget that while majority of the English readers are familiar wih English, many are international readers who read in eng because of the lacking translation in their language. I like the art and the language but I feel sorry for the readers who have difficulty understanding and think that this is a mistake on their (translators) part in terms bc it's detrimental to this comic's popularity
I'm talking about the readers who read this legally. They wouldn't continue paying for chapters after not understanding the first. It's easy for us (illegal readers) bc there are translators, but not so much fhe legal ones. Yes, the language is suitable and adds a unique touch but unless they're writing/drawing this webtoon for passion, it's not a very good idea business-wise.
It's the same case for chinese novels set in ancient times where they use very flowery languages that it makes it impossible for an average chinese learner to read thus hving to go through a translator. Both sways the crowd to the illegal option. Nothing against the translators or illegal readers, just stating the way i see it
I def get what you mean but I’m sure the diction is also something that compels readers to read. It definitely drew me in. The language is one of the defining and outstanding features of the story and sacrificing that just for a bit more profit is a creative loss for the author who puts sm effort into developing an elaborate plot and dialogue. I think it’s just ideal for creators to put their vision and substance into their work rather than taking the conventional route for business. And if we r being real, there r enough yaoi obsessed ppl that will read the manhwa without being able to fully understand it
You're right. I personally would hold on and ignore the critics if I'm doing something that I want to to my own story or it would end up like AoT's ending. This manhwa has potential to be big because of its art and popular plot which can be leaned on for the time being. if it gets big enough, there cld be more translators for diff languages
I just found out about this, so apparently there's a spinoff novel for Shou's (seme) little brother

I found a job, started the job and quit the job all in the time of waiting for season 2
Basically the reverse of what Director Kang did then
