If Mikey is the reason Taehwan is homophobic--that is, if Mikey had done something to Taehwan back then (regardless of what the action was--as many things can cause trauma, from a small ulterior-intentioned touch to a bigger assault, there should be no gatekeeping here), and thus caused Taehwan lasting trauma (which he seems to be in denial about, too), then Taehwan's reaction (disgust, condescension, indifference) and attitude towards Yeonwoo isn't completely unfounded.
Note!!! I truly think Yeonwoo is a cinnamon bun. I love him. I want to cuddle him and give him all the affection he needs. Remember, in no way am I bashing him! In fact, I mention him only, like, thrice here.
Regardless of Yeonwoo being the cutest bean, he had kissed Taehwan in his sleep. I know the general consensus in BL stories, is that that's a "cute" action, and shouldn't be scolded. But take it out of a romantic context, and put it into a more objective setting. What if the sleeping recipient held no romantic feelings?
THE KISS IS A NON-CONSENSUAL ACT. EVERYONE SEEMS TO CONVENIENTLY DISREGARD THAT. (Sorry for the caps lock--I just wanted to highlight that, even if you skip everything else I say.) Yes, in romance stories, kissing someone in their sleep is cute--but the author just happened not to take that route. Yes, these stories are generally fantastical in a sense--but that doesn't mean the author can't choose to be more realistic in her drawn interactions.
The only thing that makes it "close to consensual" is the following reaction. We're used to the formula of"person A kissing person B, person B who also returns person A's feelings wakes up during the kiss, they get together". But, again, people seem to conveniently disregard the fact that it is very natural to react with disgust--it doesn't matter that they were supposedly close. It doesn't matter even if Taehwan did like Yeonwoo somewhat back then.
Imagine yourself, then imagine a friend who you hold absolutely no romantic feelings towards, suddenly one day kissing you in your sleep. In my case, I'd be less disgusted, and more angry. After giving it some time, I'd go and ask them why they did that--and work things out. I'm sure a lot of people would be like me in that situation. But not everyone is like me, or like you. Not everyone reacts to unpleasant situations in the same way--and some lash out harder and longer, than others. A kiss like that can completely ruin a friendship. Especially from someone you thought you could trust. If you can't imagine yourself, then picture the straight, popular, probably-a-fuck-boy guys in your school--which is pretty much Taehwan. Now imagine if one of his homies kissed him--and how he'd react. It's easy to picture now, right? The straight guy would probably be PISSED. And promptly cut all ties.
Now taking that into account, taking into account that the kiss was VERY MUCH NON-CONSENSUAL (again, I feel like I have to emphasize that)--and from a person he'd trusted, and then tie in Taehwan's possible past trauma (an event with Mikey which he'd perceived to be very unpleasant), and you have the current events.
YES. TAEHWAN IS A JERK. YES. TAEHWAN IS TREATING YEONWOO BADLY. I'm not defending that--I think Taehwan's goddamn daddy but as a person, I don't like him very much. Then again, I didn't like Haesoo from Love and Hate, but I read that story anyways.
I'm merely trying my best to give a broader view on the situation--a view which, with the way things are going, is the author's intention. Again, this isn't to say that all this is Yeonwoo's fault! We know that he had his feelings, and his actions were without bad intentions. But that's only his perspective. Jump to Taehwan's perspective--and tying in his characterization and currently implied past, and the story becomes different.
but this man claims to have been 31 years old in his previous life... but here he at MOST has the maturity of someone in their early early twenties... if not younger...
