been a while since i've found a side character as annoying as the blondie. If someone was a nuisance in my life like that'd, i'd boot them to the fucking curb.

if the MC didn't like the ML, then the ML doing what he did to the MC in his sleep... would be... very... ☆questionable☆... but i'll reluctantly let it slide bc their like is mutual.

I LOVE HIM MOM CAN I TAKE HIM HOME ;-;

Dongwoo should win Best Uke of the Year award. He's open about his feelings, he doesn't play stupid pull-and-push games, he gets what he wants and he's forward. He doesn't get bogged down or stuck in self hatred, and is the sweetest bean ever. HE IS LITERALLY A MARY SUE BUT THE BEST KIND I ---- MY HEART. T^T

exactly! nothing against ukes that sleep around and love triangles... but every recent manhwa seems to revolve around that concept and i'm sick of it. ( ̄∇ ̄")

Like if this was some ugly dude doing what Minhyuk did, you better believe that even just touching Suyeong would've made the comment section go off. But Minhyuk is too daddy so we all simping (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜. That aside... like, the fact that I'm even thinking 'at least he didn't put it in' is so fucked up. Let me be clear though, I'm not rooting for this pairing. Taesung/Suyeong endgame. This shit was hot, but just because I find it hot doesn't mean I'm gonna just let it slide, lol. Dude straight up sexually assaulted a drunk person. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~ I am disappointed... Minhyuk I didn't really expect better from you but I expected better from you. The colored version would've definitely lended a VERY different vibe. More cartoony, but not in a bad way.

Fujoishi101 September 27, 2020 12:38 am

and how 'blah blah sob story whatever it's his fault for becoming 'bad''... but if you were to grow up in that sort of environment, where every around every corner you are disdained, where most people that you've trusted come to betray you (sans the red hair and purple/blue hair)... in a palace with gilded exteriors and rotten interiors that quite literally caused your mother jump to her death... how THE fUCK was he supposed to grow up? To go through all that and still be an angel? Justify that for me, will you?

Also about Suu... regardless of the threats that are driving him to betray Hwaryun... point is, objectively, he IS stabbing Hwaryun in the back. I DON'T CARE that he has his reasons because that's not the point. Obviously, Hwaryun lashed out. He definitely came to earnestly like Suu, but in the end, like everybody else, Suu ended up betraying him. I honestly don't get why Suu pulled some self-victimizing monologuing bullshit after Hwaryun snapped his ankle. Dude... he gave you a chance then you quite literally stabbed him in the back, i.e. what he hates the most, by making dragon-boy cast rainfall. What else were you expecting.

    dirtycereals September 27, 2020 4:14 am

I agree. I mean, can they say the same thing to people who turned into murderers because of their past? Not anyone can overcome such cruelty and learn how to be an angel.

For further example, if a person grew up getting yelled at for their whole childhood, chances are they’d end up screaming too, even if they hate it. Some becomes timid because of this but some ends up unconsciously imitating this, especially when it’s normalized in their household.

This has to be the most outrageous attempts to victim blame I have ever seen. You do know one is a crown prince that can’t be killed while the other is a slave right?

Suu is not a slave, he's a servant and honestly both suryeon and suu are bad in their own way so i don't see suu as a victim. From what i see, the only kind and sincere character in this manhwa would be nadan.

Once again, I agree. Are we reading the same manhwa people? Suu is cute and adorable, but he’s definitely not innocent. Gosh, he is even pushing himself to Nadan even if he refuses because for Suu, Nadan is all he needs. Suu is willing to be a traitor and stab Hwaryun in the back just to escape with Nadan. The point is, he is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Hwaryun and Suu are both victims of one another. This is just my opinion, no need to be triggered.

Stan Hearyun in the back? Explain please at what point did Suu promise the crown prince loyalty? Suu was and is still considered a slave in that kingdom. Even the crown prince uses these very words when he was talking about him in the beginning. And I am wondering if we are easing the same manhwa where instead of sympathizing with servants and slaves under instruction trying to survive, you are pitying a horrendous control freak that breaks legs of his servant at will. Suu main reason is to live and save enough to escape the kingdom. The crown prince on the other hand seeks power. Whether he ended up in those circumstances willingly or not, he seeks power. And he is evil. Please, him being slightly nice to Suu shouldn’t blind you this much. He is abusive.

I never pitied anyone in this manhwa and I am not justifying Hwaryun’s actions. Even if Suu didn’t gave his loyalty to Hwaryun, he shouldn’t have used Sahara just because he wants to take Nadan with him and go, when Nadan himself doesn’t want to. And Hwaryun is the same, he is also using Suu and even manipulating him. What I want to point out is, Hwaryun is not the only one at fault. Maybe the other one started it, but they’re both guilty in the end.

I just want people to stop turning a blind eye to Suu’s actions even if he has reasons because they both had it, even if you don’t see Hwaryun’s reasons to be good enough to justify his actions.

I’m actually neutral to both sides, but if what I previously said made you think that I was siding with Hwaryun, I’m sorry. However, I also never claimed that his actions were okay. I was agreeing to the fact that people should try to see in both perspectives.

View it objectively. Suu is betraying Hwaryun. He never promised loyalty, but he was in a romantic setting with Hwaryun. Now, he's turning against Hwaryun nevertheless. Thus, being on the opposite side of Hwaryun, who had tried giving Suu his trust, now to see Suu going against him... and aiding the Consort with his actions in using Sahara, obviously, Hwaryun was rightfully pissed.

What are you even trying to argue?

Ok. Let me answer your question. Suu is a former slave in a setting where servants and slave are disposable less than human beings that can be discarded at will. Now to appeal to your humanity, do you remember when those two aides/friends aka colleagues of Hwaryun used a servant as a shield when that guy fired arrows? Then they carelessly threw his body and talked about compensating the family? That is the status of Hwaryun. He is the freaking crown prince.
This is important to understand the dynamics of the relationship. The power imbalance between a servant and a prince. Cinderella be damned. Hwaryun pretends to be a servant and does not inform Suu that he is the crown prince. He likes reminding him that they are not the same when Suu gets a bit too confident and talks with familiarity. He is cruel. He instructs the servants to bind Suu's legs with chains when if Suu ever tries to leave without permission. He is cruel. Hwaryun is not the helpless man you are trying to make him to be. He is someone with power who wields it the second he senses disrespect from Suu. He broke his leg. Just because Suu left the room and was not listening to his instructions. Suu didn't betray Hwaryun. Suu is a former slave trying to keep his neck while running errands for two of the most powerful people in a vicious kingdom. The reason we overlook Suu's actions sometimes is the same as not blaming youth for crime when there are high rates of unemployment and corruption. You don't blame slaves for choosing to survive and using whatever little power they have to try and attain freedom.
There no romantic setting. No love. Just casual relationship of two consenting adults. One who keeps reminding the other of their place as a servant. the traitor is Hwaryun. Suu does not owe him any loyalty. Suu chose the best cards to leave the kingdom like he had planned before he met the lying crown prince that pretended to be mere palace servant.
Abusers can have moments of sweetness. In fact they do. Hwaryun is cruel. He is shown to be over and over again. Cruel against Sahara, cruel against Suu. How he ended up as some victim beats me. Being a male lead can't be this blinding.

... As goes with bias... you're only seeing what you want to see. I never said Hwaryun was the victim. I read your comment, and my point is: Suu is NOT the victim. I never said Hwaryun was the victim, only that his action in breaking Suu's leg was justified. He is not a good person. He realized that Suu was helping the concubine, thus going against him, and so he acted callously. At no point did I say, having reread my earlier words, that Hwaryun treated Suu like a treasure. At no point did I disregard the statuses of them both. I already said that you do not have to swear loyalty in order to betray someone. Obviously my point isn't getting across... whatever.

Again... notice the repeated use of 'objectively'... but the word seems to mean nothing to you...

    Kou October 10, 2020 9:02 am

But Suu was helping the concubine long before he met Hwaryun, no? If anyone should be owed loyalty it should be the concubine. Suu grew up with her. Evil and all. Suu was hired by Hwaryun to take care of the prince. He discharged his duties as required. Their personal relationship does not seem to affect both to the point of losing sight of their goals. And I don’t think braking someone’s leg is just callousness. It’s intentional, sound minded abuse. The concerning thing is the dismissal of Hwaryun’s abuse by yourself. To the point where you claim non existent loyalty to seemingly justify it. And what did the crown prince do for Suu though? I don’t see betrayal if Suu continued to work with the concubine as he already was long before he met the crown prince.
