HEY everyone! I do have a question about ai no kusabi : it's been many years since I watched and read the novels, but it's only now (since I recently rewatched the anime) I'm asking myself : why there is no women in this world or where are they lol? why there is so many men in the slurs and in the low city like ceres? is it because men control everything? does riki have parents, since we rarely see women?
and how the blondies are ...created? selected? (is there a school, are they genitically modified to be better human?)
there is many things that are weird and mysterious for me In Ai no Kusabi, But I REALLY love this anime and novel so I need answers!

i went back to look cause i realised i had no idea either the book has lots of stats about the sex ratio in ceres, that being 9:1, but nothing about why. id probably chalk it up to genetic alteration that reduces the chance of females after the creation of guardian, to prevent ceres from having a large population. although the ceres independence movement failed, should they have a freely growing population they could likely try again and that wouldn't benefit Jupiter.
in guardian only approved bloodlines can have children, all naturally born, as only midas citizens have the possibility of artificial wombs ("[Ceres] ought to be using artificial insemination. Men and women are born in Midas using artificial wombs, right?"). guardians main purpose is to control the population of ceres, and part of that is reducing the female population to prevent those living there from being able to have children.
and i went to look at what the wiki had to day and they said this "The number of blessed children whom women bore were limited in number for population control. The accursed law of Ceres said, "You don't have to kill what you never let live in the first place." (V4 p103)" which is like exactly what i had to say but more concise
