The professor was acting sus from the very beginning, it was quite clear from early chapters that he was going to get between the "main couple" and get involved to mess things up, let's not forget he knows ml's mom and went to korea with a picture of them in hands.
And yes this ml is pure shit, a real red flag, should never have give the person he claims to "love" an unknown drug, but goddammit, this author knows how to draw beautiful man omfg, every single character is so fucking gorgeous, the ml's cousin is a queen
I thought the author would go to an obvious route, like, the mc hurts himself, ended up in hospital and they kinda "start over" from there, or amnesia plot again, or Stockholm syndrome, so it's very refreshing when the plot doesn't go according to what we expected, let's see how the second season goes, but I'm 100% sure that the ml is alive somehow

Yeah, let's blame the one who is being protected instead of the one who wants to protect
I mean, I know I'm a bitch for reincarnation plot and obsessive psycho ml, but this is actually going pretty well and not so predictable as I was expecting it.
Usually this kind of reincarnation plot (at least the ones I read) focuses on erasing the awful past and shows a good person in the present as to prove he is a completely different person, but this one actually shows how toxic and fuck up the relationship of the main couple can be, and how unstable the mental health of the crown prince still is, and it shows how he constantly messes things up and do evil things, even in his childhood, which is quite refreshing to see, giving the fact that yes I believe everyone can change as long as they want to, but it's not easy and not something that can happen to a day from another as sometimes the authors like to show. And it's amazing the determination of the mc, giving the fact that he faced many bad situations in the crown prince's hands in the present line of time, but he chose to never given up and keeps trying to mold the ml to be a good and sage emperor, thinking about the atonement for their sins and the well-being of the empire.
I think it's much more believeble and refreshing to see a long journey to change the ml and show how he makes progress, even if it's a tiny step at a time. But again, it's just my humble opinion and my personal taste, I'm actually enjoying this story very much (づ￣ ³￣)づ
I fucking screamed and applauded when the mc stand for himself, that was awesome, this is the most normal and expected reaction if someone offends you and your mother, c'mon! I love him so fucking much, he's an amazing boy, deserves all the happiness in the world
