But really tho, are otakus really that disliked by Japanese society? I fucking love anime and manga, and a lot of people in my class, mostly boys, love anime, especially naruto. I just find it so weird Japanese people will dislike people who like anime and manga, despite their country being known for those things???
Its not people who casually like it that people in Japan are turned off by, its people that are OTAKUS. In Japan, an otaku is completely obsessed with anime and manga and pretty much spends all their disposable income on it. They are obsessed with it and more often than not the obsession is different from people who like it in the western world. There arent really otakus here. In Japan, people can follow everything their japanese idols are doing and its a huge industry that profits off of....mostly middle aged men that are hiding from reality. Thats why they're looked down on, because most of them become adults that are unreliable and dont fit Japanese ideals of what an adult and person that is healthy and responsible should look like. But also, the hate against them is exaggerated from drama in manga.
Im kinda seeing a pattern here:
1) the arc starts good
2) problem arises
3) problem is solve
4) their relationship develops
5) they have sex
And it always gets better
