Started skimming the parts with kyubin and seungtak. I find seunghee’s story much more intriguing and I connected with his story more believing he was the protagonist in earlier chapters. The kyubin/seungtak pairing is so monotonous and the backstory too up WAYYY to many chapters for not having a lot of actual substance. It just drones on really. I almost threw my phone in frustration when they retold the backstory from Kyubin’s perspective— like it wasn’t interesting enough to warrant the 15 some odd chapters it took, forget about carbon copying it from another perspective. Reading solely because I really think that seunghee’s story has a lot of potential— worried about what jinijini is trying to do hmmmmm

It hurts to watch bum slowly becoming sangwoo— maybe hinting that bum may become sangwoo’s ultimate demise at the end?! Because, let’s be real, there’s no way this is gonna pull out a happy fairy tale end from its ass. Someone’s gonna die, or yoogi’s gonna pull a hamlet and everyone’s gonna die. Which seems to be a theme here.

That.... that was literally so rushed wtf we got a rushed ending with no real resolution to any part of the plot?! She can’t choose “no one” because one of them has to be the one to kiss her. She is still in love with sasano? She is somehow in love with Yukinari too? But despite that she didn’t choose him? The evil yuki-onna cousin— is she dead lmaoo?? So many pieces of the plot just got yeeted out the window while the manga wrapped itself up, somehow resolving this whole issue (but not really) in one chapter. Such a shitty end that it might as well have been a one shot lmaoo I’m so upset wtf
MC has a personality for all of MAYBE two panels, cries so often that when she actually is crying as a major plot point to affect the audience/shock value it doesn’t have any affect, both guys are kinda awful but I prefer the white king because the black king claims to love her but like nearly raped her to make her hate him which is like 0% cool and also??? I find it hard that you would be able to put someone you even marginally like through that kind of pain, get about someone you love. Overall, mangas not a very good read unless you like rhetorical remarks such as “you made her cry, shirayuki?” (Yeah, not shit. She’ll cry over some goddamn vegetables if given the opportunity) and characters who are more “troupe” and less “personality”. The whole story felt really empty. Also??? Rip satsuki’s friend?? What’s the point of adding a friend if she doesn’t even contribute to the story?? She also keeps getting ditched by the MC which is hilarious to me
Honest review? Wasn’t crazy about it. Art was pretty, main character was cute and relatable without being annoying or a Mary Sue, love interest was a dick but had his redeeming moments, and competition (lil bruv)was honestly really likable and cute. The story in general? awesome. Here’s where my complaint comes in. Maybe I’m biased and prefer a slower burn but this whole manga: pacing? Never heard of her. Honestly. There was a confession in the first 8 chapters. Like, for real? I still felt like the MC and her brothers had just met and they were already trying to do the chunky monkey. Like, honestly. There’s like minimal character development I feel like. Another thing that’s a bit troublesome (again, just personal preference) but I feel like there’s no subplot... at all? And if that’s done right then I really don’t mind, but I wouldn’t exactly say that this is done right. Honestly, great ideas, great characters, poor writing and pacing. Wayyy to quick for me. Another thing that peeved me a bit was the big bro being a bit rapey. I know this is shoujo and isn’t supposed to be realistic, but to be real if I were to get a step sibling right at this very moment, i wouldn’t want to tell them to be cautious of me (locking bathroom doors, etc.) and i most certainly wouldn’t imply that I or any of my male family members could molest them if they didn’t watch out?? Idk that part just rubbed me a bit the wrong way. Like??? You already see her as a sexualized object as opposed to a sibling you little bitch?? In my house I can leave the door unlocked and my whole family respects my goddamn privacy? And knocks?! Anyways, other than that and some weird plot inconsistencies, wasn’t a dreadful read. Would reccommend if you’re lookin for a quick fix with cute chars and nice art!! I know it’s not done, and i barely skimmed chapter 8, but I’ve read all I needed to hahaha
