It's actually a shounen-ai, not yaoi. I'm not sure why they labeled it as yaoi, but it is what it is. In the original manga, it's categorized as BL, which is more focused on shounen-ai, with a story-driven plot and not many explicit scenes.

BLs usually have established seme/uke roles even if there's no sex. Idrk, it's kind of a thing in Japan, but yeah clearly the author intended for Kitahara (black hair) to be the top/seme. Another way you can figure this out is by looking at the pairing order which will usually be on the book cover. Name x Name, NameName, or Characteristics x Characteristics in which the first one is always the seme.
Well seme/uke labels are much more nuanced than just "sex position" though that is the basis of the labels

At first, i expected the girl has lesbian or gay friend or herself is lesbian or any experience related with queer people, but miss your story has no correlation. Plus, trauma dumping to another people is totally rude miss. I know the point of her story is "being different", but in my opinion her story and mc relationship actually has no correlation. She is just projecting her trauma into another people
