.............................MC's mother was only 15 years old when she married the father who was 15 years older. But when they married, the father already had four children with his mistress. When the mother was about to give birth to MC, the father did not want to be present and was celebrating his youngest kid's birthday. The mom died during childbirth and as a dying wish, she wanted to return along with MC to the royal capital. 6 months after the death of the mom, the father wanted to marry the mistress and they needed to ask permission from the king. The king was the mom's brother and he was mad at the father for the way he treated his sister. So as a condition for allowing the marriage, the king made the father renounce all his rights to MC and allow the engagement between MC and crown prince. The king did this so he can protect MC and prevent the father from having control over her.
