Literally stuck for the long run
I've been wanting to start this manga for 3 years now and I saw it getting updated, got excited and was like "yes, it's ongoing, and has more than the average 5 chapters" only to binge the entire thing, read the comments, then die a little inside
I really enjoyed the banyue pass/ half moon pass arc and all the way before that in this manhua adaptation, it felt like it went really well with the novel and didn't feel rushed to me. It was still readable and even if you were a bit confused you could still piece stuff together in the end. Now there's a lot of plot holes, and this is a story where every detail matters (as a lot of it pieces together or comes up later as important or mentioned)
I appreciate them doing this and putting in the work, just wish they could take more time and focus on the characters thoughts, expressions and the details in plot. I don't mind if it goes on hiatus for a while, or has slow updates. I would rather wait patiently for a very nice adaptation than one that was pieced together very quickly and rushed, any day.
The novel was literally so good, my absolute favorite and I will probably reread it this week. I just hope the donghua and manhua does this story justice. (So far the donghua looks GREAT! I have yet to watch S2 but I heard good things) but the manhua on the other hand, was really good at first but, recently during the Guoshi Xie Lian storyline and the Green Lantern Cave arc is faltering. Not only the details and storyline but also the emotions the characters are feeling, which sucks because this part was so hype especially the Green Lantern Cave arc for me because this is where I feel the characters really come into play here and you learn much more about them.
For example, you learn face first how brutal and vicious Hua Cheng can be when mad. You see Xie Lian's patience faltering, and him even being violent, getting angry, stressed, and lashing out at people he cares about which is very out of character for him at this time and point. I remember reading this arc and was like "holy shit", absolutely speechless because it was a really nice and also kind of surprising to see a new side to characters you've been following along with for so long. (Ok I'm convinced to read the novel literally right now lol bye)

I got obsessed with this one also. First night I started to read it I got so until this manhua that I like stayed up until 5 AM I got so hooked!
Can someone explain the entire plot to me. It's been such a long time since I've read this and I just caught up a bit but am confused. I'll reread in the future but I don't have time rn and I feel like even if I reread I'll still be confused
YOHAN (mc) robs from some DUDE to give to his BROTHER, cause their MOM sick. That dude comes back and kills his brother as payback. Mom also later dies. Yohan blames himself for what happened, working low waging jobs, to survive. He used to date this guy (EX), who is know a successful actor, and one day Yohan over hears the ex talking about how that dude was gonna kill him, but the ex told the dude to instead kill the brother. Ex is a heartless asshole. Yohan now driven with the need of revenge meets the sexy ceo (the ml) who agrees to help him with his revenge because he finds him interesting. So now Yohan is becoming an actor to get payback from Ex. Also, Yohan and sexy ceo had meet before (banged it out), but Yohan had a bunny mask on so they don't know eachother at first. Sexy ceo realizes it's him by his tattoo. And the ex has a creepy old man who is powerful and does all his bidding. (I don't even know if this helps, but this is very broad)
The story is good so I recommend rereading it.
