wait i just realized something… in ch 32 brett says: “but i guess if you really did hurt me, you’d end running away. you’d be like a wounded beast that goes to hide inside a cave”. then, in ch 45, after hayden grabs him by his tie and brett falls to the floor and tells him to go back to the “cave”, hayden says: “it’s your turn to go back. from me, from everything… the one running away is you”. this is a powerful parallel because it implies that once brett recognized he hurt hayden he decided to break things off to “run away and hide inside a cave”, just like how he expected hayden would do if it was the other way around.
i’m sure there are other parallels but seeing how this was the very last scene from the chapter it really stood out to me. i guess it’s obvious that brett does care about hayden and hayden is aware of it. so, there is definitely hope, and i look forward to seeing how these two will evolve and get back together….

just read this real quick and i’m on my knees…. the author is so good at fleshing out their characters, like i’m mirroring the emotions as i see the panels…. and i feel a knot in my throat and i empathize with hayden a lot (i’m too impressionable). it seems brett has yet to learn to understand others’ feelings, hence those panels that show a parallel to his relationship with henry. his father is still right.
i do not know what to expect next season, and i’ve noticed that it seems hayden is hurt in one way or another in each finale: first season, physically, and second season, emotionally. will brett eventually learn his lesson?
i’m so invested in this story and having to fill in the void it leaves in me during these months will be hard, there’s nothing that quite compares to it…
what an idiot…… but maybe this was the reality check they needed
